<div> "The Little Birds" is the Last mural I've painted in the new student residence @livensa_studenthousing_es in Granada, produced by @rebobinart</div><div> “the little birds” is also the name of the neighborhood where this intervention is located. I liked the idea of ​​representing the little birds coming out of the head as a symbol of creativity and freedom for the future students who will live there, who are not afraid to let their ideas fly. A mural art intervention by illustrator Marina Capdevila on a 242 square metre wall in the new student residence in Granada is the finishing touch to Livensa Living's new student residence. Here, the Catalan illustrator has left her unmistakable artistic imprint on the mural including her distinctive rebellious and modern eighty-year-old characters, as a celebration of lifelong learning. As the Spanish popular saying goes: “The devil is wiser for being old than for being evil”*. It affirms that experience and therefore age, is synonymous with wisdom, which has led artist Marina Capdevila to draw on this popular saying giving it a 180-degree twist for her urban intervention in Los Pajaritos neighbourhood. The Catalan has portrayed an elderly woman showing a millennial attitude and aesthetics, with birds flying out of her head. These birds, which refer to ideas, knowledge and imagination, are the element linking free, rebellious and "cool" youth spirit to maturity and its lessons, acquired by any human being as time goes by. After all, what old and young people have in common is the fact that we never stop learning, whether it is because of the lessons life teaches us or as a result of that never-ending curiosity to discover new things. The work also winks at Los Pajaritos crowded neighbourhood, where the new student residence Livensa Living Granada Fuentenueva is located, whose construction has brought new life to the area and has opened up a new pedestrian area and a large square for the use and enjoyment of both youth and the elderly. The mural has been managed by the creative producer company Rebobinart and was carried out from 11th to 24th April</div>

Amelia del Realejo, a nickname that accompanied her until her death in January 2018 at the age of 80, was one of the area's best-known neighbors.&nbsp; She visited bars and terraces with inexhaustible joy, selling her prints in which she appeared young and less young. Amelia especially visited the Bar Candela and the restaurant Hicuri.&nbsp; She came from Seville in Triana, she sold flowers on the Bib-Rambla, she lived alone and received postcards from abroad from the most diverse people she met during her visit to Granada. "She was a real original! She loved her neighborhood, but she was known throughout the city, she got along with politicians and workers. Granada has been everything to her since she came here more than 50 years ago after marrying a man from Granada. And the Realejo was his spirit, his way of life," explains her son Paco, also a resident of the neighborhood. "Letters reached him from all over the world, including from important personalities, and he kept photos he took, for example, with the King and Queen of Belgium," Recalls Paco. "She felt like an artist and she was. That gave him life. Although Amelia has left this world, she has not left her neighborhood forever. The ultimate graffiti artist from Realejo, El Niño de las Pinturas, with whom he shared a mutual affection, dedicated his work, his balcony and his geraniums to him. Her print with the inscription "Amelia forever" will from now on greet everyone who goes up the Pavaneras towards Gran Vía: "I was very happy to see this graffiti. There's my mother's vivid look, I can see it every day as if I saw her leaning out of the balcony, and everyone reminds me of it every time she walks past that wall. She still lives in the neighborhood," her son concludes.</div>
