<div>This mural is the final exam project of students of the Old Painting Technique School. They have worked together with students from the Restoration Plaster Training. When applying the image, old master techniques (fresco) and pigments were used.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>The fresco has a prominent place for two crowned swans. They refer to the Swan Brothers of the Illustre Dear Brotherhood of which Jheronimus Bosch was a member. Like previous members of the Royal Family, Prince Willem Alexander was installed as Zwanenbroeder in 1995. The crowns on the swans symbolize the inauguration of the new royal couple (Willem Alexander and Maxima)</div>

<div>&nbsp;Mercy: “My adventure started when I met her, THE GIRL, at the end of 2019. A great first meeting with a good connection right away. Everything was right, many common interests. We talked non-stop and she challenged me intellectually. Maybe love at first sight. But, slowly dark clouds appeared in a clear sky. A previously planned holiday and then the Corona pandemic meant that the contact gradually diminished. Everything looked dark and grim. To give my emotions a place, I picked up my old passion for illustration. Big problems need big solutions, in this case a big wall to turn my feelings into a mural. I ended up meeting so many incredible people on this adventure. I would name them, but the list is long. I rediscovered my passion for illustration and graffiti, and who knows, maybe a way of life.</div><div>For THE GIRL Thank you so much for being the spark of the journey, my muse and feeding me through it. I have strong feelings for you and I always will. I hope that at some point, now or in the future, we can be together. <div>&nbsp;Commissioned by Kings of Colors and after consultation with entrepreneurs from the 'Mengfabriek', artist Tom Linnenbank (a.k.a. Dopie) has decorated the facade of the Mengfabriek on the Tramkade in 's-Hertogenbosch with a beautiful anamorphic mural. A jellyfish with tentacles symbolizes the reconstruction of the Tramkade. The different tentacles of the jellyfish represent the entrepreneurs of the Mengfabriek who have established themselves there. At first this was a place with deferred maintenance and it was a bit of the city's drain. The location has since grown into a place where the creative industry has landed. The artist wanted to capture that blossoming. The hand also has a meaning. The hand stands for helping each other and working together.</div><div>In the Mengfabriek independent entrepreneurs and visitors meet, challenge and inspire each other daily. The Mengfabriek is a circular network of complementary experienced entrepreneurs, new start-ups, art, culture and educational institutions. It is a significant player in the field of urban transition, social innovation and talent development. A breeding ground and a living lab.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Dopie (‘83) is a well-known artist who has been active in the Dutch street art scene for over twenty years. Dopie’s work is a well-balanced mixture of realism and more traditional graffiti. He is especially known for his use of bold colors and his remarkable depiction of a wide variety of animals. His work (spraypaint, acrylics, 3D artwork) can be found in many places, both domestically and abroad as well as in several books and magazines. - ASA&nbsp;</div><div><br><br></div>

<div>About 6km outside the city center there is this small building.<br>It houses communication equipment for our national telecom provider, but more important there are 4 walls covert in Street Art.<br><br>A project of Kings of Colors (know for there own streetart festival) in cooperation with the town of 's-Hertogenbosch.<br><br>You want to go there?<br>be in for a good hike for an hour from central station.,<br>Take a (rent)bike and drive there in 20 minutes<br>Or you take a bus to the neighborhood on the other side of the rail tracks.<br><br>Getting thirsty after this trip.. there is a truckstop nearby!&nbsp;</div>

<div>In September 2021 Roy Duivenvoorde and Kevin Nijenhuis started Secret Bar &amp; Kitchen. This cocktail bar is all about quality, whether it's the 30+ cocktails or the food, everything has to be 100%. That combined with hospitality and love for gastronomy should make"s it stand out from any other catering establishment in the city.<br>Inside this bar you can find a beautiful mural by Tymon de Laat called&nbsp; "Dark &amp; Stormy", named after the legendary cocktail. Dark rum (the "dark") and ginger beer (the "stormy") served in a highball glass over ice and garnished with a slice of lime.&nbsp;</div>

<div>Kaspar van Leek (1983, Philipsburg St. Maarten) en Niels van Swaemen (1981, Eindhoven) are the founders of Studio Giftig, an urban artist duo based in the Netherlands. They specialize in photorealistic paintings and murals, often with a surrealistic twist. Each work they make is unique, because they photograph their own models which they use for their paintings.</div><div>Kaspar and Niels met in 2007, when both of them were already active in street art for some time. From 2007 the first collaboration projects were picked up and a vacant warehouse served as base for their studio. Within this warehouse there was a storage room for toxic substances and chemicals, where they kept their paint and spray cans. The name Studio Giftig refers to this storage room (because giftig is the Dutch translation of Toxic).</div><div>In 2012 the duo decided to fully devote themselves to murals.<br>The creative school Sint Lucas in Boxtel wanted to show on the outside of the building that it's all about creativity, technology and craftsmanship. Studio Giftig created this with symbolic streams.</div>

<div>Den Bosch based street artist Patrick de Kaste has given a bicycle tunnel under the Diezebrug a new life with cartoons. Many residents of Den Bosch shunned the tunnel because it always smelled bad. "Even my children didn't dare to go through it. There was rubbish and it always smelled of urine"&nbsp; says De Kaste. "You nearly fainted when you walked through that tunnel. Everyone went there to relieve their needs. It was like a public toilet."</div><div>Swase (pseudonym of De Kaste) painted his own designed cartoons on the walls of the tunnel.&nbsp; He got permission to do so after mailing the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch for one and a half years. "The cartoon animals tell something about the tunnel's past," he says.&nbsp; "Of course, the smell doesn't disappear with a work of art like this, but it does make it less inviting to urinate against the wall."&nbsp;</div>

<div>A facade of forty meters wide and several floors high of the Jacob Roelandslyceum in Boxtel shows a mural with animals that live in the Dommelbimd, the nearby area of ​​the school. It all started with a few sketches that Gamze (17) and Sanne (17), two students of the school, designed during the corona home lessons of the school subject culture (dance, drama, music and visual). Teacher Debby Verschuren and her colleague Paulien van de Mortel, devised a design project for 255 students. As a source of inspiration, the nature reserve of Dommelbimd became the starting point for the design. The question came from the Dommelbimd Foundation, neighbours of the school. Toine Cooijmans of the foundation asked the school to do something with the white wall of their building. Now two kingfishers pop off the wall in bright blue, as do a life-size grasshopper, the dragonfly and the purple lythrum, all animals and plants that occur in the Dommelbimd.</div>

Pixote Mushi

<div>Fresh first big wall in a residential area in 's-Hertogenbosch by Brazilian artist @pixote_mushi , curated by @openartmuseum and @kingsofcolors , supported and sponsored by the Brazilian Embassy @embaixada_brasil_paises_baixos&nbsp;</div><div>and Housing Corporation Zayaz.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</div><div>A large tree serves as a shelter, abode and food source for hundreds of birds. Even if that tree is cut down, the birds that come out of that big tree fly everywhere and scatter their seeds.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>With this wall Pixote Mushi made his debut in The Netherlands, showcasing his amazing art and culture. His first wall outside the borders of Brazil is in native colours. It is a tribute to Brazilian indigenous art. The mural pays honor to native artist and friend Jaider Esbell ( @jaider_esbell , @galeriajaideresbell ) who died in 2021 and has been a source of inspiration for the artist.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>As many street artists today Pixote comes from the old school hiphop and graffiti scene. Today however, his focus is mainly on lino-cut and engraving techniques. His art talks of the rights of indigenous peoples, their persecution throughout history and the demarcation of their land. Pixote also teaches and holds workshops for the youth of his community hoping to pass along important skills for future artists.&nbsp;</div><div>Here in 's-Hertogenbosch students from the @st_joost academy helped Pixote painting his work.&nbsp;</div>

<div>Starting at the Central Train Station you exit the station at the front (city exit). Take the stairs down and walk towards the roundabout with the Golden Dragon (beautiful fountain build in 1903). Turn left here, but stay at the side of the station! Walk towards the ongoing trafic (on the side walk ofcourse). On your left hand you will see a tunnel and next to the tunnel you will find the Boschveldweg. Turn left onto the Boschveldweg, here you will find a nice Pub. The road wil make a turn to the right, keep following the road for 500meters. By now you should able to see the first street art apear in front of you. The old silo's are something you can not miss.&nbsp;</div>
