Born in 1985 in Lismore NSW to an architect mother and father who was a sculptor, he started drawing at a young age and became involved in the Australian graffiti scene at the 13. Moving away from traditional graffiti in 2010 his large-scale paintings often inhabit the isolated, abandoned and broken corners of the city. <div>Fintan Magee created this mural for KUNSTLABOR in Munich.<br><br>- KUNSTLABOR - 50 Artists - 50 Experiments - 5000 m² Art -<br><br><br>"With the opening of the KUNSTLABOR, the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art (MUCA) reveals one of the largest art projects in Munich<strong>. </strong>In the absence of the public and hidden behind the façade of the former Tengelmann headquarters in Landsbergerstrasse 350, artists of urban and contemporary art have been working for several months on their individual „spatial experiments“. The numerous relics of the former office complex serve as inspiration and backdrop for their works; mouse-grey wallpapers became canvases, files turned into sculptures, and office cabinets into installations – spray painted, drawn, hammered and artistically realized on several floors.[...] Now the KUNSTLABOR and its artists are ready to present themselves and take visitors on a voyage of discovery through this unique art project from 13 October before the building gives way to a new development."<br><br>- 13th. The Artic glass pattern in the painting was common in middle-class Queensland homes in the 1960’s and was used in French doors and windows. Some of my earliest memories of Queensland Architecture was my fathers silhouette through the glass doors when he got home. <br>The work explores the role of de-industrialization in urban communities and on the suburban fringes of Australia. The figures in the mural appear distant, disconnected, isolated and breaking up. As middle class homes become increasingly out of reach for working class Australians and lower-pay and job insecurity continues to shape how we work, this painting explores how nostalgia shapes political views and how workers view their communities and the outside world.<br>The works specifically looks at two rail workers from the city of Ipswich. As Queensland was in lockdown, many people in management or admin roles were able to isolate, while many essential, transport, delivery and medical staff continued working. Keeping our economy functioning and food supply moving. ‘Two figures behind Glass’

<div>A wall of over 16 meters on an Ater building in Via Cristoforo Numai, painted on the occasion of the artist's personal exhibition at the Varsi gallery, in collaboration with the Muracci Nostri collective, already very active in the neighborhood. Titled "The Roadkill", the work depicts a little girl holding up a large deer head. As often happens in the artist's poetry, inspiration comes from his childhood memory. "I was very impressed - said Magee - from a story that my neighbors told me when I was 7. They told me they had hit a deer. I didn't know there were these animals in Australia. My mother explained to me that they had been introduced by the Europeans and they were a plague: they carried diseases and devoured the plants on which the kangaroos were fed. But despite everything - he concludes - I could not fail to feel sorry for such beautiful animals ".</div>

<div>"The October 2017 California wildfires were a series of 250 forest blazes that burned across the North of the State. 44 people lost their lives in the fires while over 6000 structures were destroyed and hundreds of thousands acres of forest and farm land were incinerated. With 7 of the 10 largest fires in California occurring in the last 15 years, many scientists are now pointing to climate change as one of the major factors behind the increase. During the incident more than 10,000 firefighters battled the blaze, with crews arriving from as far away as Canada and Australia.<br><br>This work is an animated portrait of a firefighter from the region, he is depicted holding a co-worker’s helmet as a single flower grows from it. This work acts as a monument to the firefighters who have died in the line of duty while also commenting on the cycles of life, death and regrowth after forest fires.&nbsp;<br>The work is located on the train line in the Napa Valley’s Rail Arts district and consists of 14 hand-painted portraits. The work is designed so that each portrait acts as an animation cell. As the viewer passes the wall at speed on the train, the work animates, giving the portrait life and movement."&nbsp;</div>

Tribute to Northern California Firefighters

<div><strong>Fintan Magee</strong> is one of the most uprising artists of contemporary painting. <br>What makes him special is his combination of Street Art and Expressionism and that is what we get, facing <strong>"Boyhood". </strong>Fintan is known for his way of creating art. He gets inspired by people and topics that face the world (immigration, nature, politics etc.). In his mindset, everybody has a story to tell, so people are the perfect "object" to include in his works. His Mural for the<strong> ArtWalk-Saarbrücken </strong>is a time travel to a journey to the Libanon. There he took a picture of a boy playing with bow and arrow and for the wall in Saarbrücken, he changed&nbsp; it just a bit. A boy from Saarbrücken had to pose for the same picture - and then he drew him! Simple and perfect!&nbsp;</div><div><br>Just a short side information. It took a while getting the right spot and wall, because the condition of the wall was bad in the first place. But in the end it worked out and is one of the most impressive murals of the <strong>ArtWalk-Saarbrücken</strong>.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><br>Take a closer look and see how he incorporated the old advertisement into his mural. The Broken Wall

<div>This beautiful portrait pays tribute to Naomi Mayers, a Yorta Yorta/Wiradjuri woman who was one of the founders of the first Aboriginal community controlled health services in Redfern. Ms Mayers is also the longest running female CEO in Australia as well as being a member of the all female Aboriginal band in the 1960's.</div>

<div><a href="https://iamtitanes.com/silo/herencia/?lang=en">Australian Fintan Magee </a>painted on three sides of the silo, two of the local social workers and one <br>members of Laborvalía who works with them. It’s another example of the inclusion of people with <br>disabilities who have again actively participated in the artistic intervention on the silo.<br><strong><br>Titanes is a project to promote social inclusion through art by creating a public art museum of top international artists on silos in the province of Ciudad Real.</strong><br>The artist Okuda San Miguel and his Ink and Movement team will once again work with the Laborvalía association to support the integration of people with disabilities in society and in the workplace. This is the big idea behind Titanes, one of the biggest artistic initiatives for social inclusion carried out to date. More than 450 members of Laborvalía will participate in the project, sharing different activities with the artists.</div><div>Backed by the Provincial Government of Ciudad Real, Titanes aims to be exemplary in making progress through art and to pay homage to all those who work day after day to make social inclusion a reality.</div><div><br></div>

<div>Encumbered by the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner, this piece illustrates the portrait of a mentally ill man puzzled by his current state, holding a bird cage and his head buzzing with bees. This was the first artwork commissioned for the TWT Creative Precinct in St Leonards, which has since seen an extension onwards.</div>

<div>Featuring a nomad on a grey horse traversing through the river, passing a background of red trees and a house on stilts. Commissioned for Rallis Timber, pictured in the distance is another wooden house. The houses represents the history and function of the Rallis Timber on which the wall is painted.</div>

The Settler

<div>This work captures the happenings in the housing market in Sydney around 2015. The property prices rose a massive 9.8% and due to this many young people are priced out of an area they have been living in for years. This artwork depicts a young creative couple, Rob and Renee, locals living in a warehouse. Due to gentrification of the area, they live in fear of losing their rental warehouse home and losing the Australian dream of owning your own home. Australian Silo Art Trail

<div>Patchewollock is the fourth silo in the Australian Silo Art Trail and the second to be painted in the Wimmera-Mallee in Victoria. It’s always been one of my favourite silos as I love the rich colours in this one and the story behind it also.</div><div><br></div><div>The Patchewollock Silo was painted by a Brisbane artist by the name of Fintan Magee.&nbsp; For inspiration for his silo mural and to get to the know the people of the area, Fintan booked a room at the local pub so he could mix among the local community.</div><div><br></div><div>It wasn’t long before he met the subject for the Patchewollock Silos. A hard working lanky local by the name of Nick “Noodle” Hulland who exemplified the no-nonsence, hardworking spirit of the region.</div><div><br></div><div>This twin silo was built in 1939 and was transformed in late 2016 and now portrays the classic Aussie farmer wearing a blue “flanny” shirt.</div>

<div>Commissioned by Stockland Wetherill Park for the Own the Moment Public Art Series. Along the wall of The Parks Occasional Child Care Centre, the artwork is filled with vibrant imaginary elements such as flying fish and a book. An expression that is fondly lost while growing up, the ribbon clings to those who are in tune with their creative and curious minds.<br><br></div>

It depicts a woman with her face hidden behind clouds of fabric – inspired by discarded cloths found in the abandoned Rocklea Spinning Mills.
