The mural paintings of Utrecht artist JanIsDeMan couldn’t exist anywhere else than where they at. Whether it’s the shape of the wall or building that inspires a composition, literally giving a face to a house by painting his famous googly eyes or filling a huge bookcase with the favorite books of people in the neighborhood, the surroundings always feed the concept. Once upon a time he picked up the spray can Out of rebellion, nowadays he just wants to make people smile or stimulate their imagination or to create a social message. Although the rebel within JanIsDeMan will never disappear.
