<div>French painter Mahn Kloix just finished a new fresco in the streets of Marseille. The fresco was made as tribute to Nûdem Durak, a Kurdish woman imprisoned for singing in Turkey. The artist shared this artwork together with a quote from Pınar Selek, a Turkish sociologist exiled in France during an interview by les Inrockuptibles:<br><em>“They wanted to make an example with Nûdem, because music is very important in the resistance in Turkey: when the police arrive, the demonstrators sing and dance. They chose her because she sang in protests and became very famous – and she is a free woman, who speaks”<br></em><br></div>

He welcomes them to his farm and assists them with the administrative procedures to submit their asylum application. All this in place of the French administrative authorities who are exonerating themselves from their obligations, particularly with regard to the protection of minors.</div>

Produite et coordonnée par Méta 2, elle est la première représentation urbaine de la célèbre Monna Lisa au sein de la cité phocéenne.</div>

<div>On the 200 m2 wall of the telecoms operator Orange in Marseille, a look now dominates the city, signed by the Marseille street artist Mahn Kloix: that of Tursunay Ziawudun, a Uyghur who testified on her ordeal in the <em>“camps”</em> Chinese.<br><br></div><div>On October 8 with a simple stencil, <em>“Tursunay Ziawudun, by Mahn Kloix”</em>.</div><div>No message beyond this name and face, which the artist painted from an image from a BBC documentary where this 43-year-old woman recounts the rapes she suffered in one of the <em>“camps”</em> set up by the Chinese regime in the western region of Xinjiang, first in 2017, then in 2018.<br><br></div><div>Under an almost transparent lace veil, the look is soft. With his hand on the cheek, Tursunay Ziawudun seems <em>“looking to the future”: “One of my challenges”,</em> Mahn Kloix explains to AFP, <em>“it is to talk about negative things without falling into the negative, to always give an image of hope”.</em> This woman’s journey has been <em>“violent”</em>, explains the 40-year-old artist, who spent two years in Beijing, when he was still a graphic designer and above all a long-haul traveler. It was through this BBC documentary that he discovered Tursunay Ziawudun’s ordeal. <em>“It took me to the guts.”<br></em><br></div><div>With this work, Mahn Kloix signs the first stage of MauMa, the Museum of Urban Art in Marseille, initiated by the Méta2 association. Objective within three years: to cover the walls of the neighborhoods behind the port with a hundred works.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

<div>L’œuvre de l’artiste marseillais Bobar est une succession d’actions et d’instants rendant hommage aux différents quartiers de Marseille et à ses habitants. L’artiste a souhaité représenter la passion des marseillais pour le sport, la ferveur des supporteurs pour leur équipe et les valeurs qui découlent de la pratique du sport en général.&nbsp;<br><br>Jouant avec l’immensité et la longueur du mur, l’artiste a pensé cette fresque « comme une série de cases à la manière d’une bande-dessinée » afin que « chaque partie soit intelligible et intéressante ».<br><br>L’œuvre de Bobar a été réalisée dans le cadre du MauMA avec les 16 participants de la première promotion de l’Ecole du MauMA. Bobar a notamment eu le soutien opérationnel des 8 participant.e.s en formation BTP et la communication autour du projet a été réalisée par les 8 participant.e.s en formation communication.<br><br>Bobar explore divers champs de création, entre la peinture murale, le tatouage, l’image animée et la peinture en atelier. Son travail s’inscrit dans une quête esthétique, aussi bien inspirée par l’estampe japonaise que par l’école de la ligne claire. Elle fait l’objet de poursuites et de manœuvres de harcèlement pour avoir défendu les droits des femmes et des LGBTI. Elle encourt jusqu’à six ans d’emprisonnement pour des accusations absurdes de « production et diffusion de matériaux pornographiques », en raison de ses dessins du corps féminin.</div>
