RNST

Born in 1972, RNST is a French street artist who established himself from the 1990s in graffiti, stencil, collage and screenprint. His career took him from Dijon (where he started tagging and painting) to many urban walls across France, then also to canvas works and exhibited screenprints. He first painted under the tag GEST, then as Ernest - an openly declared nod to Ernest Pignon-Ernest, whose work he admires. Nowadays he works as RNST. RNST blends provocation and poetry, revolt and sensitivity. His works are often loaded with social or political discourse: immigration, repression, injustices, social pressure.
