<div>On this wall on a bike path between a busy road and a quiet neighbourhoo Smok was asked to put some color on this wall in summer of 2015.&nbsp;<br>The local artist got his inspiration from everyday life , he was walking around one day, when he caught an old woman littering . When he told her that littering isn't allowed, she wittingly answered "DER MAG ZOVEEL NI" which litterally means "there's not much allowed".<br><br>(June 2015)</div>

<div><br>The tunnel under Berchem Station has been a thorn in the eye of the district for several years, Many locals wanted some more color in that dark "pit".<br>That is why the Antwerp artist Smok was invited to brighten up this gray area and inspired by the nearby Wolvenberg nature reserve.<br>Smok is known for his very realistic work and thus created huge portraits of animals that live in walking distance in the wild.<br>Take a selfie with the fox and share with #smokyfox<br><br>created november 2017</div>

<div>Metrostations have always been connected with graffiti. "De Lijn" (public transport company) invited 3 streetartists for the first time to embellish the Metrostation Plantin.&nbsp;<br>The 3 artists were invited to the Plantin-Moretus&nbsp; museum to get some inspiration. In the early days when Antwerp didn't have a city zoo, the only way to discover exotic animals was looking at drawings. <div>Smok has been sitting on this project for 3 years when he found this inspiring picture of Will.<br>On "<a href="http://thatdadblog.com/">Thatdadblog</a>"&nbsp; Alan Lawrence follows the adventures of his family, his son Will is blessed with an extra chromosome and has the ability to fly. Alan tries to capture (with a bag of tricks) his son's special power and shares the flying adventures of his son.<br>Now everubody can see Will flying in Berchem.</div>

<div>Spring is in town and what better way to illustrate this than painting some cute bunnies on a graffiti detoriated large utility cabin.&nbsp;<br>Frans Halsplein is a&nbsp; cosy square in the middel of the university quarter which received a positieve boost in 2004 when it got a complete make-over in an "Urban jungle" theme.&nbsp;<br>Now the little bunnies created by Smok found their new home there.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;(april 2016)</div>

<div>In 2019 a young student disappeared and found dead on her way to Antwerp. The city rolled out a plan to improve safety, quality of life and social control and asked Street Art Antwerp to help out.<br>4 artists painted the 4 pillars of the highway inspired by nature, the beautiful swan emerging from the water is by Tuzq, the curious fox is by Duits, the colorful hummingbird by Smok and the proud peacock by Gun-T.<br><br>With support of Stad Antwerpen &amp; Mooimakers</div>

<div>In 2015 streetart reached mondain Brasschaat for the first time. The first ever wall was a big one! 5 different artist put some color on a side wall of a house at the parking lot of a local supermarket. During 5 days and nights they work on this mural. Although the locals were pretty excited and the owner of the house asked permission, the mural almost had to be removed cause local authorities of Brasschaat didn't think it was approriate. But public opinion won.<br><br>(Oktober 2015)</div>

<div>On the parking lot of a small print shop in Merksem, a district in the north of Antwerp you'll find a streetart treasure.<br>The owner likes is a big street art fan and decided to invite some artist on his walls, the only requirement was to stay 'cool'<br><br>March 2016<br>After a long winter in 2016 Joachim &amp; co thought it was enough and made this awesome collab.<br>Dutch streetartists Oxalien and the infamous KBTR came to town and painted this amazing winter themed piece.<br>You'll see a Giant KBTR (midget) pushing away winter.&nbsp;<br>The fact the infamous KBTR collaborated on this one is special cause he rarely leaves his hometown Utrecht (Netherlands).<br><br>July 2016<br><br>Smok came and painted a giant polar bear showing off his skills once again.<br><br>September 2016<br>After his work at Meeting of Styles Marc the owner invited Vÿrus to add something cool to the wall and Maria the ice princess appeared.<br><br>Stay tuned on this location, because more art wil appear here ...</div>

<div>Graffitikunstenaar SMOK maakte een muurschildering van portretten van twee vrouwen in hun verschillende levensfases. Het kunstwerk is te bewonderen via de ingang van de jeugddienst in de Lange Pastoorstraat 28 of via de ingang van het woonzorgcentrum Moretus aan de Grotesteenweg 185 in Berchem.<br>“Met dit project willen we de verbondenheid tussen de jeugddienst en de bewoners van woonzorgcentrum Moretus letterlijk in de verf zetten”, zegt Kris Gysels (Open Vld), districtsschepen voor streetart en jeugd. “Door de muur te verfraaien met een werk van streetart artiest SMOK wordt de leefomgeving van de bewoners van het woonzorgcentrum aangenamer. <div>This wall, commissioned by the city of Edegem was two-part assignment; to process the Sustainable Development Goals&nbsp; on the one hand, and depict Edegem on the other.<br>A workshop with the staff who will occupy the new leisure center ‘Kruispunt’ (and who will see this wall every day) resulted in a number of values and norms.<br><em>Welcome, Meeting, Caring and Safety</em> was translated into the image of a hug.<br><em>Faithful, Elegant, Classic and Quiet</em> was processed like a swan. The two images are blended into one another in order to obtain one image that you can dream away in.<br><br><br>🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰🅰<br><br>Eigenlijk heeft dit project al een voorgeschiedenis van twee jaar. In het verleden heb Smok met twee andere Edegemse kunstenaars panelen met street art gemaakt om duidelijk te maken dat Edegem een fairtrade-gemeente was geworden. Het gemeentebestuur vroeg of ze voor de zijgevel van Den Willecom geen ontwerp konden opmaken dat de Europese waarden voorstelde. We hadden een ontwerp klaar, maar de medewerkers van de diensten die binnenkort in het nieuwe vrijetijdscentrum Kruispunt ernaast komen werken, wilden iets anders. Daarom organisserde de artiest een workshop met hen om uit te zoeken welke woorden moesten worden omgezet in het ontwerp. De conclusie was dat vooral tot uiting moest komen waar Edegem voor staat en welke waarden belangrijk zijn.”<br><br></div><div>Zo ontstonden de zwaan en de knuffel. “De zwaan staat voor traditie, trouw, sierlijkheid en klassiek. Terwijl de <em>hug</em> of knuffel termen als open, vriendelijk en ontmoeten moet weergeven. Vooral dat laatste was heel belangrijk voor de medewerkers van de gemeente.”<br><br></div><div><br></div>

<div><strong>NEDERLANDS</strong> - In 2020 heeft Tim Marschang, de man achter Street Art Antwerp, de wedstrijd "mooiste Belgische Street Art van het jaar" georganiseerd. Volgers konden op sociale media hun stem uitbrengen op een selectie van 100 werken, allemaal gecreëerd door Belgen. In totaal hebben meer dan 2.500 mensen hun stem uitgebracht. De beste 20 werken gingen door naar een tweede ronde. Op basis daarvan werden de mooiste 5 werken gekozen. Deze prachtige vis van de hand van de Antwerpse kunstenaar SMOK mocht zich bij de 5 mooiste werken rekenen! <div>When you leave the station in Sint-Niklaas you’ll be surpised by the colorful hummingbird staring you in the eyes. “I found the environment to be very straightforward and outdated in architecture. I wanted to bring something very colorful and organic, certainly in contrast to the dull and gray corridor of the station. And I enjoy working with animals. Very grateful. When you step out of the station, you are now bombarded by colors, ”says Bart” Smok “Boudewijns. If you look closely, you can see the reflection of a pole and the station building on the other side of the street in the eye of the hummingbird.<br><br></div>

<div>On this narrow blindwall you see a little boy&nbsp; tucked away in the corner. Is he playing a game, is he crying because he's punished?<br>This little fella is sad because he can't or isn't allowed to play in the street. He's ashamed of what is being decided around him (politics) or ashamed of what's going on with this world (war, Climate Change, corruption,…) on the other hand, maybe he's just playing hide and seek… who knows??<br><br>Part of the 'fake Views' project where several trompe l'oeil artworks are created to play with our minds....</div>

<div>&nbsp;Local Smok created the last mural for the "Fake Views" project organised by District Berchem. A series of "trompe l"oeils" in the street art district of Antwerp were created, these optical illusions play with the mind of the viewers. The artist portrayed Kabnetvan goedzaken pruning a tree right in front of the wall. But if you stand in front of it, it may also look like she's cutting the cable in front of the wall.....&nbsp;</div>

Zijn stijl is levendig en fotorealistisch. SMOK: "Ik hou ervan om te schilderen met spuitbussen, maar ik ben niet bang om penselen en andere dingen te gebruiken.
