The motif on the door shows a purple flowerpot from which a fleshy tentacle sprouts, combined with a spray can - clearly a work from German street artist Carl Kenz who is known for his vibrant, surrealist style and his love for organic forms. Tentacles are a recurring motif in his work.
Kenz is also known by his pseudonym Ars Vivenda (Latin for "art to be lived"). He was born in Kaiserslautern and has been active in the graffiti scene since the late 1990s. Kenz has created numerous international works across Germany, Europe, Israel, and the USA.
Note: The artwork is located in the Kammgarn courtyard. It is part oft the "Graffiti Hall of Fame“ and can usually be viewed during events.
