467. Ricky AlsoRicky Also's love for typography, colour & layout are the product of his background in graffiti art and graphic design.
Drawing on these influences he creates structured artworks from words and sayings that interlock in multiple layers. Featuring exaggerated & manipulated letterforms that help to give a unique sense of movement and rhythm. With the majority of his work taking the form of painted murals, he plays heavily with scale and the concept of using supersized graphics to transform spaces and environments.
Now based on the south coast of the UK, Ricky applies his art to a wide range of projects nationally, working through his creative practice, Paintshop (paintshopstudio.com).
Ricky is an established artist in the graffiti and street art movements with over 30 experience developing his own work as well as curating and helping to producing various street arts events and projects including the Upside outdoor gallery (Bournemouth) and MultiStories - Street art car park (Southampton).
468. Hugo MedinaI was born in La Paz, Bolivia, and immigrated to New York as a child, where my artistic journey and educational pursuits began. I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from C.W. Post/Long Island University in 1998 and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix in 2006. My commitment to community-based art education was shaped by a formative experience volunteering on the Kumeyaay Indian Reservation during my college years.
In 1998, I moved to Phoenix to teach art and design, custom metalwork, and sculpture. I established after-school programs and formed partnerships to connect students with local art institutions. My experience at Ironco Enterprise further developed my expertise in steel construction, CAD design, and project management.
In 2009, I transitioned to full-time artistry with my first solo exhibition in Arizona and co-founded the Calle 16 Mural Project, which empowers neighborhoods through community murals. My involvement also includes roles with Artlink and the Phoenix Arts and Cultural Commission.
I currently reside in Ithaca, New York, where I support my partner's doctoral studies at Cornell University while advancing my own career. My work, rooted in my Bolivian heritage and immigrant experience, celebrates resilience, multiculturalism, and the unifying power of art in communities.

469. Alessio BolognesiI’m a mural artist born in Ferrara on 1978, where I live and create.
I’m also a member of the artistic street art and graffiti collective Vida Krei (VKB).
I’m used to (badly) sketch since I was a little child but, after some years of inactivity due to my studies in electronical engineering and to my parallel job as a 3D graphic designer, I decided to (try to) paint more actively in 2008. In 2010 I won the first awards and made first solo shows.
I’ve always been used to get bored easily, so I feel the necessity to continue evolving my language and exploring new subjects. I run the risk to not be appreciated but I can’t avoid to renew. So, after I created my alter-ego character “Sfiggy” through which I told stories about myself, I arrived to the new projects which have a wider sensibility and more general topics.
I’m naturally curious and always open to confrontation and contamination of cultures and styles and that impacts on both my fine-art works (that I show in the galleries) and murals I paint everywhere in Italy and other countries.
I’m today represented by galleries in Italy, USA and Portugal, I participate to Street Art festival and events but I still believe that grabbing my staff and spend a day painting on a wall with my friends is one of the funniest things in the world.

478. Davor SmoljanDavor Smoljan is an artist whose work explores themes of our individual and collective place in the world, based on mankind's cultural and sociological heritage and its influence throughout time. Everyday imagery from the streets that seem to go unnoticed to most is what attracts him towards finding and creating a connection with a place, a moment, an object or a person. Through his artworks, he portrays a visual storytelling in which he strives for contextual relevance by painting these faces and these exact moments in a highly realistic manner. Therein, he aims to emphasize the beauty within simplicity of everyday life and its natural, unmasked course of existence within our time.
As an artist, his approach towards his work allows him to explore each and every concept to its fullest potential during which he always aims to combine an initial idea with the process itself. The raw and spontaneous element -both literally and figuratively- of collecting images and memories from the streets often play an intricate part in his creations and within these depictions, his work conveys a message of his fascination with the transience of all things in life. A hyper focus, a zoom-in on the many faces and places and the connection within those very experiences is essentially depicted in his murals and his paintings.
Davor's studio and gallery work therefore usually consists of a presentation of artworks consisting of oil paintings on canvas, paintings on raw and authentic materials, and graphite pencil drawings on paper. His mural work is mostly created by using paint & brushes.
Davor Smoljan was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (1981) and has been living in The Netherlands since 1993, fleeing the turmoil of the country’s war with his parents and his sister. He currently resides here with his wife and daughter and works from his home studio.
