465. Iván TortajadaMine is the typical story of the kid who has always been into art, with the particularity that I led my passion towards popular and traditional urban installations from my hometown, Valencia (Spain), called “Fallas”.
I currently combine my work for the Fallas Festival with colorful mural paintings where geometry coexists with organic pleasant characters. I try to create images that are appealing and attractive to the public, but at the same time they hide a story behind that can be understood by the viewers that look for something more meaningful. Usually related with LGBTQ2IAS+ rights or environmental care.
I have painted murals for companies and public institutions in Valencia of conisiderable sizes, (from 4 meters to 9 meters high) mostly outdoors, therefore I have used lifts and elevators to paint them. I have participated in the Colors Festival in Paris, and in the Slagelse Street Art Festival in Denmark, both in 2023. In 2024 I have participated in Upfest Presents (Bristol, UK) as well.
I am very interested in illustration and among my reference artists we can find Loish, Dulk, Giacomo Guccinelli, ONUR, and Eliza Ivanova.

I’ve had the opportunity to bring my art to meaningful spaces, from murals in the Netherlands to a collaboration with the Dutch Embassy in India, where I created work celebrating the connection between these two cultures. Each project, whether abroad or in places close to home, is a chance to spark conversation, challenge norms, and empower others—especially women and young people—to embrace their unique paths.
In the coming year, I’ll be creating several murals in the Netherlands and continue to pursue my dream of painting internationally. I believe in the power of transparency and storytelling in art, and I’m eager to connect with new audiences and bring my work to inspiring locations around the world.

480. Miquel WertMiquel Wert (Barcelona, Spain, 1982) is a Spanish-Swedish painter and muralist based in Barcelona. Raised in a family that appreciated art and craftsmanship, Miquel developed an early fascination with drawing. His father’s technical drawings, along with comics, illustration, and painting, inspired him to draw compulsively—an obsession that ultimately led him to pursue Fine Arts.
He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona in 2005 and currently combines his artistic practice with teaching as an associate professor in the Department of Arts and Conservation-Restoration at the same institution.
Miquel’s artistic journey began on the streets of Barcelona in 1993 when he painted his first tag with a school friend. By 1996, he was fully immersed in graffiti culture, creating large-scale works on both legal and illegal surfaces, often focused on the human figure. In 2002, personal and legal challenges led him to step away from graffiti. After six years of intense studio work, he reimagined his approach to public space, returning to urban interventions with a more introspective and personal outlook. Moving beyond the conventions of graffiti, he began exploring pictorial themes, often drawing inspiration from his family roots, and experimenting with mixed media—using brushes, rollers, and unconventional tools—well before the rise of new muralism and the influence of social media.
Since 2000, Miquel’s paintings and murals have been featured in nearly one hundred solo and group exhibitions internationally, including galleries, cultural institutions, and art fairs. He is represented by Galerie Art du Temps (Cléon-d’Andran, France), Luxart Galerie (Arlon, Belgium), Galeria Anquin’s (Reus, Spain), and Galerie Friedmann-Hahn (Berlin, Germany).
His work has earned significant recognition, including First Prize at the LIV International Drawing Prize Ynglada-Guillot (2016) and an Honorable Mention at the Stipendutstilling exhibition at Galleri Ramfjord (Oslo, Norway). He has also received fellowships and residencies from institutions such as the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc, Torrearte, and JISER: Reflexions Mediterrànies.
Miquel’s artworks are held in public and private collections in over a dozen countries, including the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, the Heritage Fund of the University of Barcelona, JISER (Spain/Tunisia), Cervezas Ambar, Vermut Miró, and various municipal collections in Spain and Portugal. His murals can be found in public spaces throughout France, Austria, Portugal, Tunisia, and Spain.
Miquel’s figurative art, rich in narrative and emotional depth, delves into themes of memory, identity, and the intersection of collective and personal histories.Showing all artists, updated on a daily basis.
