D!VE324. D!VED!VE is an Irish visual artist. Originally from Cork, he studied Graphic Design at the Limerick School of Art & Design. In pursuit of further artistic development, he traveled to Berlin where he used his skills in visual communications combined with a passion for screen print to develop his practice as a printmaker and a creator. D!VE began his artistic journey as teenager heavily influenced by street art culture, he was drawn in by the lawlessness but he stayed for the creative outlet...and the smell of the paint. D!VE's artistic practice focuses on creating snapshots of moments that never happened. Visualising objects disassembling in zero gravity to create highly detailed images outside the limitations of traditional composition, revealing components and structures that would be otherwise hidden depending on the angle. This concept is fueled by Picasso’s words, ‘Every act of creation begins as an act of destruction’. Destruction, deconstructed. D!VE’s focus on shattering historical statues is derived from the notion that these figures represent societies at their cultural peak. Great Roman & Greek philosophers, warriors and Gods frozen in time emphasise the power of humanity. The fractured statues represent today’s fractured society. A divided world of people contrasting from far right to far left, where peoples unwavering belief in the most outlandish conspiracy theories would make the most rational thinker question their sanity, where having all of the worlds information at our fingertips made us vacuous.
Ligama330. LigamaLigama is a Sicilian artist whose career began in Catania, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and later became Assistant to the Chair of Engraving. After years of research on printmaking, he left the Academy in 2015 to fully dedicate himself to painting. His early focus was on the pixel as the fundamental unit of digital imagery, leading to his debut solo exhibition *8Bit* in Bologna. Ligama works both in the studio and in public spaces, and since 2016 he has participated in major international street art festivals such as Festiwall, The Bushwick Collective, and Gulìa Urbana. He has collaborated with museums, foundations, churches, and institutions including the Museum of Urban Art in New York, MACRO in Rome, the Terzo Pilastro Foundation, and the Federico II Foundation. His murals appear in locations ranging from penitentiaries and hospitals to historical churches, and he has worked with brands like Lidl, Glo, and Airlite. A highlight of his practice is *Uncommissioned Landscape*, a self-initiated project in which he paints pixelated color fields on Sicilian ruins, using audio recordings to generate the palette. The result integrates with the landscape and invites reflection. This work bridges digital aesthetics and traditional rural architecture, reflecting Ligama’s evolving focus on classical imagery, flora, and human presence. In recent years, Ligama has completed significant projects in Denmark, Matera, Parma, and Palermo. In 2024, he created the first of 21 murals across Sicily commemorating mafia victims. Recognized as one of Exibart’s 222 young Italian artists to invest in, his work continues to blend digital concepts with historical and cultural themes, gaining national media attention and inclusion in prestigious collections.
Davor Smoljan336. Davor SmoljanDavor Smoljan is an artist whose work explores themes of our individual and collective place in the world, based on mankind's cultural and sociological heritage and its influence throughout time. Everyday imagery from the streets that seem to go unnoticed to most is what attracts him towards finding and creating a connection with a place, a moment, an object or a person. Through his artworks, he portrays a visual storytelling in which he strives for contextual relevance by painting these faces and these exact moments in a highly realistic manner. Therein, he aims to emphasize the beauty within simplicity of everyday life and its natural, unmasked course of existence within our time. As an artist, his approach towards his work allows him to explore each and every concept to its fullest potential during which he always aims to combine an initial idea with the process itself. The raw and spontaneous element -both literally and figuratively- of collecting images and memories from the streets often play an intricate part in his creations and within these depictions, his work conveys a message of his fascination with the transience of all things in life. A hyper focus, a zoom-in on the many faces and places and the connection within those very experiences is essentially depicted in his murals and his paintings. Davor's studio and gallery work therefore usually consists of a presentation of artworks consisting of oil paintings on canvas, paintings on raw and authentic materials, and graphite pencil drawings on paper. His mural work is mostly created by using paint & brushes. Davor Smoljan was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (1981) and has been living in The Netherlands since 1993, fleeing the turmoil of the country’s war with his parents and his sister. He currently resides here with his wife and daughter and works from his home studio.
