KATASTROFFFE322. KATASTROFFFE Katastrofffe, a project spearheaded by Milena Kravetz, epitomizes creativity in its truest form. Milena currently resides in Lisbon, Portugal. A graduate of the Academy of Art ADA in Florence, Italy, Milena has explored various artistic avenues, including sculpture, oil painting, photography and creating line of underground clothing line. One of her standout projects, "Face of the City," features fifty limited-edition plaster sculptures positioned in public spaces around the globe. These sculptures reflect the complexities of urban life, embodying the cities as living entities that respond to various social and environmental pressures. Through this project, Milena seeks to convey the emotions and experiences of urban life, using street art as a powerful medium for social commentary and public engagement. Here, we imagine, if not at least observe, that the city is a living entity. An organism not unlike ourselves. How does it react to environmental degradation, overcrowding, lack of sleep, filth, and immorality? Sculptures are limited to 50 pieces , they are placed all around Europe: Florence, Prague, Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Hamburg, Oslo, Stockholm, Moscow, St. Petersburg and of course Lisbon. Milena advocates for making art accessible by introducing the concept of open-air exhibitions. This method challenges traditional art presentation modes, broadening the audience by integrating art into everyday public spaces. Her approach not only democratizes art but also encourages public interaction and reflection, especially on topics like the commercialization of art and the role of public spaces in artistic expression. "We often come across the commercialisation of art, especially with regard to exhibitions. After all, renting space costs money, engaging the press and advertising, and much more. But what if the very purpose of the exhibition is simply to be heard or seen by some number of people? People who don’t go to galleries and don’t respond to advertisements on TV and the Internet. The more people are drawn to a message broadcasted through street art, the more likely it will be for them to share it on social media platforms.“ Her work, especially projects like "Overprotected Love," tackles emotional themes with a directness and honesty that's rare. These street art pieces provoke thought about the complexities of love and emotional vulnerability. Posters got stuck in London, Brighton, Berlin. Milena Kravetz's Katastrofffe is a testament to the power of street art as a form of expression and connection. It stands as an example of how creativity can transcend traditional boundaries, making art accessible and engaging for everyone.
Mink328. Mink was born in Valencia, Spain, and began my journey into the world of graffiti by painting murals in abandoned places. Over the years, I trained and refined my art. After completing my studies in graphic design, I started developing my work while working as a freelance artist, both creating murals and working on illustration projects. My travels have taken me to paint on every continent, broadening my artistic perspective. As an illustrator, I’ve collaborated on projects with Harto Arte (Mexico), Paria (Germany), and Sense Art (China), among others. My work is characterized by the use of vector illustrations and flat colors, portraying a wide range of scenes and sensations inspired by my experience as an urban artist. These influences are reflected in my distinctive cast of characters, recognizable by their rounded shapes and expressive eyes. In my creative universe, where nature and the urban environment merge, I aim to transport the viewer to a unique and unfamiliar world. My motivation comes from the connection between the city and art. Through my work, I constantly explore new narrative frontiers, techniques, materials, and tools that allow my art to interact in innovative ways with those who experience it. Today, I continue to devote my energy and passion to creating and painting murals, illustrations, and also 3D work. Every new project is both an opportunity and a challenge to push my own limits, reflecting my passion for art and my desire to share my vision with the world.
D!VE332. D!VED!VE is an Irish visual artist. Originally from Cork, he studied Graphic Design at the Limerick School of Art & Design. In pursuit of further artistic development, he traveled to Berlin where he used his skills in visual communications combined with a passion for screen print to develop his practice as a printmaker and a creator. D!VE began his artistic journey as teenager heavily influenced by street art culture, he was drawn in by the lawlessness but he stayed for the creative outlet...and the smell of the paint. D!VE's artistic practice focuses on creating snapshots of moments that never happened. Visualising objects disassembling in zero gravity to create highly detailed images outside the limitations of traditional composition, revealing components and structures that would be otherwise hidden depending on the angle. This concept is fueled by Picasso’s words, ‘Every act of creation begins as an act of destruction’. Destruction, deconstructed. D!VE’s focus on shattering historical statues is derived from the notion that these figures represent societies at their cultural peak. Great Roman & Greek philosophers, warriors and Gods frozen in time emphasise the power of humanity. The fractured statues represent today’s fractured society. A divided world of people contrasting from far right to far left, where peoples unwavering belief in the most outlandish conspiracy theories would make the most rational thinker question their sanity, where having all of the worlds information at our fingertips made us vacuous.
