A craft of worlds from Yam Island artist depicting many sea creatures in a totem-like style for Sea Walls Australia.
Glen has chosen to depict his family totemic designs of the dugong, sea turtle and manta ray in his unmistakably bold ‘minar’, or infill-design style. Nestled amongst his own invented geometric repeating water pattern, he retells the myths and legendary stories he's inherited from older family members, and harnesses the visible impacts of changing weather patterns due to global warming. There's a clear ripple in the water patterns, showing that the changing weather will continue to effect everything from marine species to communities. You can see the work in it's entirety on the corner of Minnie and Grafton Streets at Munro Martin Parklands.
