The “TUI” mural features a hyper-realistic depiction of an exotic tui bird, a species native to New Zealand with a name derived from the Māori language. While the mural enhances the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding area, it also carries deeper significance. In Māori culture, tui birds are symbols of a fulfilling life, self-confidence, and spiritual harmony. They are believed to be messengers of the gods and intermediaries for communicating with them.
This mural not only beautifies the local space but also invites reflection on the connection between humans, nature, and culture.
