<div>The main figure is a puffin, a bird that lives in the cliffs of Vik, a small fishing village on the south coast of Iceland. The artist wanted to capture that relationship and the adventure that he himself lived, since he traveled to Puerto de la Cruz crossing the Atlantic directly from Iceland. The mural represents his own journey with details of both fishing populations (relating them in the form of a puffin lost in the coasts of Puerto de la Cruz), which are bathed by the same ocean.</div>

<div>Víctor Pacheco began painting graffiti with the pseudonym Kob in his hometown, Puerto de la Cruz. During the years devoted to urban art, and being contaminated by the studies of sculpture and installation, he develops an organic abstraction of the graffiti typography describing his artistic concerns for different Spanish cities. It presents a great repertoire of surreal scenes, invented animals, vegetation or simply beings that are really a conglomerate of different species.</div>

It is the moment in which the rose window detaches from the falúa leaving to the drift the daydreams and travesías of these anonymous crew members. The name of the closest falúa is a nod to the Menceyato to which Puerto de la Cruz belongs, where the work is made: Taoro (the Guanche name of one of the nine kingdoms that made up the island of Tenerife in pre-colonial times).</div>

<div>Using a bit of German in the title of his piece, Velasco wanted to reference on the importance of tourism and impact that foreigners have on the local culture and development. He further commented on this by painting a wide angle urban landscape, showing local architecture against the modern, tourist money infused areas. In the middle of this composition he painted a portrait of a friend/assistant, as a symbol of young generation that has a lot of options available for them in a place like this. Using his expressive painterly technique with visible brush strokes and great eye of light/shadow play, the vibrant piece blended nicely with the bright facades and rooftops of nearby houses.<br><br></div>

<div>To raise awareness on people with disabilities both artists were invited to paint this huge mural.<br>Through several workshops, since September last year, in which disability has been addressed in all areas and in which both adults and children have participated came different proposals. Among them the creation of a mural that reflects the problem of the person with disabilities and, even, of the neighborhood in which they reside.<br>Marta Hernandez, a local, was the muse.<br>Notice the little antennas in the painting, they refer to another struggle of locals fighting the Mobile Phone industry polluting the area with their metal scrap.</div>

<div>A hotel that has been abondoned for a couple of years. Lot's of graffiti and quite a few pieces by Ione Dominguez. The area is closed, but it's very easy to just step in from Av. Maritima close to the beach. If you're into urbex, it's a nice place. Before going in you should be aware that it is an abondoned and closed place. And if you do go in, whatch where you're going. It's easy urbex though.</div>
