<div>Fintan Magee is one of the most uprising artists of contemporary painting. What makes him special is his combination of Street Art and Expressionism and that is what we get, facing "Boyhood". Fintan is known for his way of creating art. He gets inspired by people and topics that face the world (immigration, nature, politics etc.). In his mindset, everybody has a story to tell, so people are the perfect "object" to include in his works. His Mural for the ArtWalk-Saarbrücken is a time travel to a journey to the Libanon. There he took a picture of a boy playing with bow and arrow and for the wall in Saarbrücken, he changed&nbsp; it just a bit. A boy from Saarbrücken had to pose for the same picture - and then he drew him! Simple and perfect!&nbsp;</div><div> Just a short side information. It took a while getting the right spot and wall, because the condition of the wall was bad in the first place. But in the end it worked out and is one of the most impressive murals of the ArtWalk-Saarbrücken.&nbsp;</div><div> </div><div> Take a closer look and see how he incorporated the old advertisement into his mural. Laune

<div>The local artists Raks &amp; Laune also added a wall to the ArtWalk-Saarbrücken in 2017. Both know each other for over 15 years and over the time they developed a strong friendship. They started spraying graffiti in their early years and visited the same art college. Despite their strong connection both developed unique styles. Raks is known for his graphic style, often combined with lettering. Laune on the other hand has a strong figurative style with abstract and heavily emotional parts. Those absolute contrary styles are combined in a perfect match for the mural "Die Suche" (eng. "The Search"). The first thing you see is a woman with a stick in her hand who is somehow searching for something. What she is looking for is not clear, and it is not really important for the reception of the mural. The artist tried to create an aesthetic combination of both their styles and it works out perfectly. The mural is a strong addition to the more industrial surroundings it faces. Saarbrücken should be happy to have such a great work and such great local artist.&nbsp;</div>

Hall of Fame Wagwiesental

<div>The local artists Raks &amp; Laune improved the facade of the Saarbrücken power plant, alongside the river Saar, back in 2013. Both know each other for over 15 years and over the time they developed a strong friendship. They started spraying graffiti in their early years and visited the same art college. Despite their strong connection both developed unique styles. Raks is known for his graphic style, often combined with lettering. Laune on the other hand has a strong figurative style with abstract and heavily emotional parts. This mural is called "Liebespaar" (eng. Lovers) and displays both styles in a perfect combined way. The upper half of the wall is done by Lauen and the lower half is done by Raks. Like the lovers with their arms both styles are intertwined with each other and add up to a perfect composition. The "Liebespaar" is one of two additional works of other artists in this area.</div>

Heiko Zahlmann

Stohead

<div>Heiko Zahlmann and Stohead combine their totally different styles in the mural "Mapped 66117" for the ArtWalk-Saarbrücken. Both artists know each other for years and worked together, ever since. Back in the days they shared a studio in Hamburg for years, traveled together and realized duo art-projects and exhibitons. You do feel the strong connection both have, looking at the mural. Stohead with his "Writing-Style" (Tags, Bombs, etc.) and Heiko Zahlmann with his more abstract way of defining new forms with a lot of depth - both styles create a perfect symbiosis with each other (also check out their solo works!!!).&nbsp; You will find the mural at a school in Saarbrücken which is based in the district Alt-Saarbrücken with the Zip-Code "66117". They also added a fine copper colored line into the wall, wich should be a reminder of the mining industry that started with a coppermine, situated in Saarbrücken for decades. This shows how the artists get influenced by the location they are working with.</div>

Alexey Luka

<div>"One short story" by Russian artist Alexey Luka was the first addition to the Art Walk Saarbrücken in May 2017.&nbsp; Alexey, who originally studied architecture in Moscow, has become a well known abstract contemporary artist and muralist around the world. The influence of studying architecture is still present and can be examined in every piece of art he creates - clear structure, sharp edges and perfectly executed way of creating his art! His totally abstract murals are telling stories most of the time, so does One short story. According to the artist, we are seeing 3 people trying to get to an outcome after a discussion - Can you spot them? While examine the whole portfolio of Alexey, you recognize his way of using different materials (wood, steal, canvas, spray paint, acrylic etc.) and combining them to a new abstract piece of art with several layers. His style is just amazing and one of a kind in the world of muralists. What is something special about him in my opinion is, that his art works in small scale on a canvas with several different materials&nbsp; and also in a big scale.&nbsp;</div>

<div>Meet Aryz: He is a well known and appreciated artist around the world and his murals and artworks are widely spread across the globe. He is born in the US but moved to Barcelona as a young child - he still lives and works in this great city and is also a strong supporter of the independency of the region of Catalonia.&nbsp;</div><div> With his mural for the ArtWalk Saarbrücken, Aryz takes a route he doesn't take that often but also represents his way of understanding art. Most of his works are known for his outstanding figurative style and the use of strong colors. This time he presents a still life mural with strong colors and the influence of is surroundings. You see lemons, flowers and a brick wall, that seems to be a wallpaper, that is supported by a thighbone. Lemons could be referenced to his home in Catalonia and the octagon tiles in the background are a tribute to his mother and her lovely kitchen. The down slipping brick-wallpaper that is hold back by a thighbone, could be seen as a reminder of the fast living world and the constant change between old(death) and new(fresh). That kind of fast decay and consumption of things, topics (politics/society) and also art is something that bothers him and with his artworks he raises awareness for it. One of the main people in the background of the ArtWalk Saarbrücken Nina Reinhardt, interviewed him for the exhibition catalogue and asked him about the meaning of his mural and he answered: "Maybe there is a a meaning - Maybe not!" He doesn't want to create something that is directly comprehensive for the observer. They should take their time to evaluate the work and get into deeper thoughts - So you should! </div>

Expecting more details and precision is almost impossible. He also took up some inspiration from the surrounding buildings and shops. You are going to see pizza (there is great one near) or a crocodile, that got his idea from a man dresser around the corner.&nbsp; First you are going to recognize 2 people without faces and stairways are leading into their heads -&nbsp; the bodies are standing back to back.
