Adele Renault

<div>2018 Edition<br><br>Adele Renault is a Belgian artist based in The Netherlands. She grew up on a farm in the Belgian Ardennes, where her family encouraged her to travel the world on her own. During her travels she studied visual arts from classical oil painting to modern spray can graffiti, while also experimenting with new media and graphic design. She graduated in 2010 from the Academie Royal des Beaux Arts in Brussels. Her work is easily recognizable. She has a distinct portraiture technique focused on pigeons and people. With meticulous care and attention to detail, Renault renders an old woman’s face an a pigeon’s with the same care and precision.</div>

Mohamed L’Ghacham

<div><strong>2018 EDITION<br><br></strong>Born in Tangier, Morocco, Mohamed L’Ghacham is a painter and muralist from Mataró, Barcelona. Mohamed was always interested in the plastic arts. He discovered the world of graffiti during his school days and years later he became attracted by the most classic painters and the language they use. His work is mainly figurative with a realistic character with Impressionist touches. He creates scenes from everyday life around him, combined with the visual imagery of late 20th century photography. He currently bases his works on a mixture of painting and classical techniques with the most contemporary muralism.<br><br>His inpsiration is the idea that during the Rock Werchter festival this place will be filled with people partying. He thought it was fun to remind them what their first parties looked like. How with two balloons, four plastic plates and a paper crown they could get then the same feeling that is achieved in a festival with a logistics of this magnitude.</div>

Bikismo

<div><strong>2018 Edition</strong>.<br><br>Joshua Santos Rivera better known as Bik Ismo, is an urban graffiti artist from from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. With a 22 year career on the streets Bik Ismo has rendered international recognition.&nbsp; He is known for his mind boggling metallic murals. They are designed to look as if they are reflecting real objects in the surrounding area, which is pretty amazing. His mural of a metallic dog in Miami, won the best mural award in 2014. His urban work is characterized by the symbol of a toaster and the phrase “Seguimos Tostando” (We’ll keep toasting). He is currently part of prestigious international groups of urban art such as FX, The Nasty Boys (TNB) and Master of Destruction (MAD).</div>

Hyuro

<div>2018 EDITION<br><br>Hyuro is an Argentinian urban artist. She currently lives and works in Valencia, Spain. Hyuro is known for her black and white murals, paintings and drawings. Originally working on canvas, Hyuro took to the streets after striking up a friendship with Spanish street artist Escif. Women are the center of her work.&nbsp; She blends politics and surrealisme in dreamlike compositions. Hyuro has become one of the most influential female artists working in public space today.</div>

Joram Roukes

<div>2018 Edition<br><br>Born in 1983 in a small city in The Netherlands, Joram Roukes earned his BFA in fine arts at the Minerva Academy of Arts in Groningen in 2006. In 2008 Roukes was awarded a stipend from Mondriaanfonds, which he used to set up an artist residency in Brooklyn, New York City. Joram Rouke’s work is a dark, humorous play on topics that range from popular culture, global affairs and personal experience. His work gained attention from several international galleries. He has since shown his work in Copenhagen, Paris and Berlin among many others.</div>

<div><strong>2018 EDITION<br><br></strong>Youri Cansell aka Mantra grew up between the city’s noise and the whispers of the forest in Metz in France. He is a self tought painter, active in the graffiti scene since 2008. His art honors his childhood heroes: butterflies, owls and spiders. His art reflects the voices of nature that we no longer listen to and shows the footprints left in the urban spaces repeated over and over like mantras. Mantra takes care of every detail ensuring the wall has a soul of its own. He paints freehand without using a projector or grid , demonstrating a strong passion and an unique motivation.<br><br></div>

<div>Naast de <a href="https://www.toerismevlaamsbrabant.be/producten/bezoeken/bezienswaardigheden/demertrefplaats-werchter/"><strong>Demertrefplaats 'het bomenpad'</strong></a> staat nu een kunstwerk dat een doorsnede van een beverburcht voorstelt. Begin september begon de plaatsing van houten stammen door de firma Art-ex. Deze werden zorgvuldig op elkaar gestapeld: het snijvlak van de stammen diende immers als muur voor een graffitischilderij. Vervolgens ging street artist <a href="https://www.facebook.com/DZIAKRANKDZIA"><strong>DZIA</strong></a> aan de slag. Hij maakte in zijn kenmerkende stijl een ontwerp van een bever die hij op de stammenmuur tevoorschijn toverde.&nbsp; Het nagelnieuwe kunstwerk is zichtbaar van op het <a href="http://goo.gl/maps/3ud2R1HbyqLdTTB29"><strong>bomenpad</strong></a>.</div>
