Walk some of Melbourne's iconic laneways to find masses of wonderful and varied art.
Start your walk in ACDC Lane.
ACDC Lane
So much art here, murals, paste-ups, stickers, but we'll mark the lane on the map with Mike Makatrons 3D piece featuring ACDC lead singer Bon Scott.
Duckboard Place
Duckboard Place is a continuation of ACDC Lane and contains so much art, check out the Fintan Magee mural and all the paste-ups and stickers adorning doorways and walls. We'll mark the map though, with two Banksy Parachuting Rats that are found on the concrete door jambs of a doorway in the south-west corner of the lane.
Higson Lane
Head back out to Flinders Lane and walk west and look for Higson Lane. The artwork here is constantly changing so who knows what you'll find, we'll mark the map with Lukas Kasper's mural of Pesto the Penguin.
Hosier Lane
Continue west along Flinders Lane, across Russell St and walk to Hosier Lane. Probably Melbourne's most famous laneway, but it has become messy with a lot of tagging recently, but always interesting and bustling during weekends, you'll often find people painting here. We'll mark the laneway on the map with Adnate's magnificent portrait of Marlu, you need to look up for this one.
Degraves St
Look out for the colourful orb by Vexta while walking around Degraves St, a lovely little mecca of cafes and restaurants.
Flinders Court
Head back out onto Flinders Lane and continue walking west and cross Elizabeth St. In Flinders Court you will usually find four or five good murals, we'll mark the map with this colourful piece by Urshtray.
Presgrave Place
Head back to Elizabeth Street then head north to Little Collins and then head back east, walk down Howey Place to find Presgrave Place, one of my favourite of our laneways. The walls are covered by art here, much of it framed, lots and lots of little pieces, paste-ups, stickers, stencils, as well as some murals. I've marked the map with this recent mural by Diego Salas.
Baptist Place
Continue east along Little Collins St to Baptist place, another great laneway for "little art", marking the map with this intricate stencil by Viki Murray of fellow artist Suki.
Croft Alley
Now we're heading up to Little Bourke St to find Croft Alley which is off Paynes Place. The art here is constantly changing.
Albion Alley
Walk west now, back along Little Bourke, you'll find this gorgeous piece by Adnate in Albion Alley.
Warburton Lane
Crossing Elizabeth St and continuing up Little Bourke St, you'll find Warburton Lane, this lovely piece by Kaffeine is near the entrance, but walk down the end there's lots of lovely art here.
Guildford Lane
We're going to head up to Guildford Lane now, which is off Queen St, another rather unique little laneway. Look down low for this lovely little stencil from M2O.
Kulinbulok Lane
This laneway close by to the Victoria Market is another lane with constantly changing art.
