Goodnight Sisters

Description

The "Goodnight Sisters" mural in Derry was created by the Peaball Street Art Collective. It was conceptualized by organizer Shá Gillespie and unveiled on March 8, 2025 (International Women's Day) in Lisfannon Park within the Bogside area.

About the Mural

  • Subject: The late Irish feminist, journalist, and activist Nell McCafferty.

  • Inspiration: The title and quote come from her signature radio sign-off phrase on The Women's Programme.

  • Location: Painted on a gable wall visible from Lecky Road in the Bogside, near where she grew up.
