<div>As part of the renovation of the playground of the primary school 'de Mozaiëk' a mural was created. Together with the neighbors and curator Bjorn Van Poucke of The Crystal Ship, an artist was sought who could capture the story of the school in one image. Eventually the project of artist Nean was chosen. One of the teachers Astrid is delighted: “The wall painting is a real work of art. The children recognize themselves, adults feel the emotion behind the work. No Destinies Ordained

<div>For the 2nd edition of Walls of BoHo Brussels based artist Nean painted on the blindwall of the art academy.<br><br>In resonance with the academy he wanted to pay tribute to music but especially to creativity in general.<br>"My wish when I paint is to create an atmosphere in which one can easily immerse oneself. I like to create questions where the viewer can contemplatie about the meaning and invite them to imagine their own answers and trigger creativity. In the end my interpretation, my answer to these questions is as valuable than anyone else's"<br>That's the great thing about interpreting art, there is no notion of "true/false"<br><br>He asked his girlfriend Iota to pose (the girl who looks away), she's also an artist and was part of the line-up of Walls of BoHo's first edition.</div>

<div>As part of a Red Cross campaign to raise awareness about stem cell donation, NEAN was selected to represent two people, a mother and her son, who live in the neighbourhood.<br><br></div><div>In this work, we are able to visualise the artist’s main characteristic: a very meticulous attention to detail.<br><br></div>

<div>This mural is the result of a project concerning domestic violence. The text says: speaking breaks down walls. Talking about and with people is the key to helping or preventing domestic violence. The city made an animation about this, <a href="http://stad.gent/familiaalgeweld">you can see it on their website</a>.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>A project by Stad Gent.</div>

<div>This painting is made by Belgian artist NEAN in the center of Lelystad. NEAN is an allround artist from Brussel. You could recognize his murals by his use of photorealistic portraits in combination with experimental elements. The landscape and the environment in which his depicted persons are located also play an important role in his work, making a connection with nature. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>This artist has the talent to beautifully portray humanity in an often vulnerable way, without presenting one clear story. This ensures that you as a viewer can link your own story to the work. This work of a person and the sea gives a dreamy and nostalgic impression. <div><br>Together with Euroports, one of the largest logistics companies in the port, Port of Antwerp puts the spotlight on all the people who work in the port in an inspiring way. This part of the harbor will be brightened up by the impressive 200-meter-long facade. The creative aspect was provided by Treepack, a specialist in painting public and commercial spaces. <br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Connecting city and port</strong> <br>The impressive eye-catcher shows in a unique way what both companies stand for: sustainability, diversity and connection. A motley sandpiper (bird) represents the local fauna and flora, while "De Waterbus" and an inland vessel represent the mobility in the port. The Antwerp skyline, the MAS and the Port House are also depicted, creating the link between port and city. The people are central in the artwork, as they are the ones who make the harbor run. From dock worker to boatman and from captain to passr by, they are all part of the Antwerp port and deserve a place.<br> <br>Harbor alderman Annick De Ridder: "Thanks to this creative project, we not only attract the attention of the dock workers, but it also creates more connections with the inhabitants of the city. Our 3 pillars - sustainability, diversity and connection - are also brought froward by means of the various components and this shows what we stand for as a port company. It undoubtedly adds something to our port. " <br> <br>"For this art project we went looking for artists who focus on biodiversity, society and sustainability. That led us to choose the artists of <a href="https://harmoniagama.green/">Harmonia Gama.</a> They combine abstract and contemporary art and visualize the link between the harbor in the mural. the living environment and people ", say Treepack experts.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>And the name? 'Winter 7:00 PM' is inspired by some of the dramatic sunsets the artists experienced on the wall. The beautiful colors coincided perfectly with the Indian summer atmosphere of the artwork itself. Given the period of the placement of the artwork and the time of the dramatic skies, this name has stuck. De skyline van Antwerpen, het MAS en het Havenhuis worden ook afgebeeld, waardoor de link tussen haven en stad wordt gemaakt. Centraal in het kunstwerk staan de mensen, aangezien zij diegene zijn die de haven doen draaien. Van havenarbeider tot bootman en van kapitein tot recreant, ze vormen allemaal onderdeel van de Antwerpse haven en verdienen een plaats op de gevel.</div><div><br>Havenschepen Annick De Ridder:<em> ‘Dankzij dit creatief project trekken we niet alleen de aandacht van de havenarbeiders, maar het creëert ook meer connectie met de inwoners van de stad. Onze 3 pijlers - duurzaamheid, diversiteit, en verbinding - komen door middel van de verschillende onderdelen ook mooi naar voren en dit laat zien waar wij voor staan als havenbedrijf. Het voegt ongetwijfeld iets toe aan onze haven.’<br><br></em>"Voor dit kunstproject zijn we opzoek gegaan naar artiesten die zich focussen op biodiversiteit, samenleving en duurzaamheid. 'Winter 7:00 PM' is geïnspireerd op een aantal dramatische zonsondergangen die de artisten hebben beleefd aan de muur. De prachtige kleuren vielen perfect samen met de indian summer sfeer van het kunstwerk zelf. Gezien de periode van de plaatsing van het kunstwerk en het tijdstip van de dramatische luchten is deze naam blijven hangen. Meteen een indicatie voor wanneer je het best van dit spektakel kan genieten.<br><br><br></div>

<div><br>The Bosto company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020 and wanted to highlight this even more and reached out to Street Art Antwerp. Due to corona and other issues, the mural comes 2 years after the actual birthday. In addition to the city poem on the famous Bosto tower in Merksem, Boost Nutrition is now also unfolding street art to draw attention to the Merksem area in a positive way.<br>Nean from Brussels was chosen, who has already made a name for himself in our neighboring countries, the Netherlands, France and Germany, but Ireland and Ukraine are also on his list.<br>After some research I came up with simple themes such as agriculture, our relationship with the earth, the sun and us as part of the ecosystem. To illustrate this, I depict 2 people (may or may not be a couple) in the middle of a rice field staring at the warm glow in the sky. To remind us of the fact that (Bosto) rice doesn't just grow in our stores.”: says the artist. And so the basic product rice becomes a warm image that invites people to travel and to reconnect with simple things.<br>&nbsp;-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</div><div>Het bedrijf Bosto vierde in 2020 haar 100 jarige verjaardag en wilde dit extra in de verf zetten en riep hiervoor de hulp in van Street Art Antwerp. Door corona en ander perikelen komt de mural er dan toch 2 jaar na de eigenlijke verjaardag. Naast het stadsgedicht op de bekende Bosto-toren in Merksem, pakt Boost Nutrition nu ook uit met street art om de Merksemse omgeving op een positieve manier in de aandacht te brengen.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>De artiestkeuze viel op Nean uit Brussel die al naam maakte in onze buurlanden Nederland, Frankrijk en Duitsland, maar ook Ierland en Oekraïne staan al op zijn palmares.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Na wat research kwam ik uit op eenvoudige thema’s als landbouw, onze relatie met de aarde, de zon en ons als deel van het eco-systeem. Om dit te illustreren, beeld ik 2 mensen uit (al dan niet een koppel) in het midden van een rijstveld starend naar de warme gloed in de lucht. Om ons zo te herinneren aan het feit dat (Bosto) rijst niet zomaar in onze winkels groeit.”: vertelt de artiest. En zo wordt het basisproduct rijst een warm beeld dat mensen uitnodigt om te reizen en om terug te verbinden met eenvoudige dingen.&nbsp;<br><br></div>

<div>L’œuvre de Nean représente une adolescente dans un environnement urbain. Il s’agit de la première fresque plébiscitée par des citoyennes et citoyens suite à l’appel aux murs lancé par la Ville de Namur en juin 2018. Nean a grandi à Bruxelles. Autodidacte, il a fait ses débuts sur papier avant de se tourner vers la peinture à la bombe aérosol. En 2014, il rejoint le collectif Propaganza, regroupant une vingtaine d’artistes issus de Belgique, France, Espagne et Angleterre. Influencé par la peinture traditionnelle et l’art numérique, son travail gravite entre un style expérimental et photo-réaliste. The topic here was politics and administration, without trust it doesn't work, people hope that politicians will make the right decisions for the future.

From 2008-2011 still known as ArtJam, the Urban Art Festival 2012 under a new name and a new concept became part of the now more than 20 year old cultural festival Map (music-art-project) in Rheinberg am Niederrhein (North Rhine-Westphalia).

The festival is organized by the music-art-project e.V. association and enriches the cultural wing of the city of Rheinberg with music, poetry and urban art. With the family festival, we want to take as diverse interests into account as possible, offer artists a creative platform and give people from the Lower Rhine access to urban art and exchange with international artists from the urban art scene.
