Created for 'Krusi Orsa' ( translated as Decorating Orsa') festival, part of a project funded by Orsa Besparingsskog in collaboration with Företagarna Orsa and Orsa municipality, with the goal of making Orsa city center a more exciting, interesting and engaging meeting place that reflects Orsa’s brand and stimulates the imagination.
The region of Dalarna is one of the most typical in Sweden with it’s blue mountains, vast lakes and rich wildlife accompanied buy a diverse culture ranging from traditional handicraft to contemporary music. This is the pitch that the invited artists were given for their designs. Nean known for his amazing interpretation of skies and light and landscapes got inspired by the natural beauty of Orsa and the amazing sunsets portraying a person sitting on an island in the sunset surrounded by water, forest and a magical sky.
"Orsa was simply a memorable moment, a small town in terms of population but a large one in terms of its sense of welcome and commitment to the project. Its inhabitants reminded me of the power of painting a wall, and why I continue to work in public spaces. With this piece, directly inspired by Orsa's landscapes, I wanted to represent the fact of having a reassuring place of one's own when what surrounds us can seem intimidating." : shares Belgian artist Nean
