Hélène Planquelle is a self-taught studio painter and mural artist who explores the shadow part of ourselves and our relationship with others and the way in which our inner conflicts get reflected in the world. At once deeply conceptual and powerfully figurative, her work is rooted in a rich soil of scholarly references, in fields ranging from psychoanalysis and philosophy to ethics and social sciences, attachment theories, evolutionary psychology and the study of religious texts and myths.
