In 2021, the Waste Department of the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch called on the help of Kings of Colors to start transforming the boring metal containers in the city into beautiful and colorful works of art.

Jasper Briks (aka Brikkie Briks) was born and lives in Budel (NL). His passion for paint has been there for as long as he can remember. From the age of nine he took painting lessons, learning the basics of art and composition. One learns by doing, and while learning one does. So with the help of a lot of study, practice, experience and, above all, fun, he has developed himself into a muralist.

The artist: ‘For me, this design emphasises the link between waste and responsibility. Cleaning up is not only necessary, it can also be quite ‘badass’. Waste must be thrown in the bin and cleaning up is for everyone".

In 2021 schakelde de afdeling Afval van de gemeente 's-Hertogenbosch de hulp in van Kings of Colors om de saaie metalen afvalcontainers in de stad om te toveren tot prachtige en kleurrijke kunstwerken.

Jasper Briks (ook bekend als Brikkie Briks) is geboren en woont in Budel (NL). Zijn passie voor verf bestaat al zo lang hij zich kan herinneren. Vanaf zijn negende volgde hij schilderlessen, waar hij de basisbeginselen van kunst en compositie leerde. Je leert door te doen, en terwijl je leert, doe je. Dus met behulp van veel studie, oefening, ervaring en bovenal plezier heeft hij zich ontwikkeld tot muralist.

De kunstenaar: ‘Voor mij benadrukt dit ontwerp de link tussen afval en verantwoordelijkheid. Opruimen is niet alleen noodzakelijk, het kan ook best ‘badass’ zijn. Afval hoort in de prullenbak en opruimen is een taak voor iedereen.’
