Collaboration between Bartkore en KRS1 a.k.a. Krisje Dirckx.

In May 2021, in full corona time, the artist collective ‘Limbuddies’, led by Krisje Dirckx (KRS1), painted this bicycle tunnel in Bree. The project was an initiative of the students of the 5th year of the local secondary school SAB.

All the works in the tunnel refer to the central theme of ‘observation and creation’. The joint artwork on the two tunnel walls is entitled ‘Ode to curiosity’.

KRS1 painted the astronaut, in the figures on the left you can recognise Bartkore's distinctive style.

De astronaut wordt voor lange tijd de ruimte ingestuurd. Hij maakte met zijn geliefde de afspraak: "Als je me mist, ga dan op je favoriete plek op het strand zitten en kijk naar boven. Weet dan dat ik ook naar jou kijk en van je hou." ~ I love you to the moon and back.

Dit kunstwerk maakt deel uit van "Tour Elentrik". Dit zijn landelijke stadsvernieuwingsprojecten waarbij oude en lelijke stroom en nutskasten worden opgeknapt door lokale creatievelingen en professionele kunstenaars uit het Treepack-netwerk.
