"David Selor is a painter whose work lies at the crossroads of street art, contemporary art and narrative illustration. Since the early 2010s, he has developed a practice deeply rooted in public space, creating works that interact with their surroundings and engage directly with passers-by.

Based in Bordeaux, he became particularly known for his murals and urban collages, which have contributed to shaping the city’s visual art scene. His work can be found both in the streets and in exhibitions and institutional projects, exploring themes such as visibility, anonymity, identity, transmission and collective storytelling.

At the heart of his artistic universe is Le Mimil, a humanoid character that has become the distinctive signature of his work. Gentle and serene in appearance, Le Mimil draws inspiration from the autism spectrum, approached not as a clinical subject, but as another way of perceiving the world, emotions and social relationships.

Through this character, David Selor addresses sensitive subjects related to society, memory, identity and human vulnerability with simplicity, humour and kindness.
