For ALL CAPS festival, the artist was presented with the Concrete Lions team, a 3x3 basketball (or street basketball) club that houses in the building the painting is on. This sport is relative new and not very well known, but greatly popular in Rotterdam. The Concrete Lions house some of the best players on an international level, winning many prizes.

Knowing their feats achieved from the team it appeared that the people weren´t recognized as they deserved, as contributors for the sport and the local region. He wanted to bring awareness of the deeper aspects of the individuals. As people who carry their own struggles and hopes on their daily life, knowing the uncertainty of their path, but still find strength from hope and come together to build something collectively that also will impact their individual lives.

Therefore he decided to portray the athletes in casual clothes instead of in uniform, to emphasize their journey and challenges as people. With their fears, hopes and dreams so hopefully it would resonate with the locals as well other parts of the globe.

Voor ALL CAPS festival kreeg de artiest het Concrete Lions team gepresenteerd, een 3x3 basketbal (of straatbasketbal) club die gehuisd is in het gebouw waar de schildering op is gemaakt. Deze sport is relatief en onbekend, maar erg populair in Rotterdam. De Concrete Lions hebben enkele van de beste spelers op internationaal niveau in huis en winnen vele prijzen.

In de wetenschap van de prestaties die het team heeft geleverd heeft het de schijn dat deze mensen niet werden erkend zoals zij verdienen, als bijdragers aan hun sport en de lokale regio. Hij wilde bewustzijn creëren voor het diepere aspect van de individuen. Als mensen hebben zij allen hun eigen worstelingen en hoop in hun dagelijks leven. Ze kennen de onzekerheid van hun pad, maar vinden kracht in hoop en komen samen om iets collectief op te bouwen dat ook hun individuele levens beïnvloed.

Hierom heeft hij gekozen de sporters in hun dagelijkse kleding af te beelden, in plaats van hun tenue, om hun persoonlijke reis en uitdagingen als mensen te benadrukken. Met hun angsten, hoop en dromen, zodat het hopelijk resoneert bij zowel de lokale bevolking en de rest van de wereld.
