Fly Me To The Moon

With “Fly Me to the Moon”, Any About New York creates an explosive and joyful work that stages the dream as a space of play, movement, and possibility. Painted on the wall of the municipal gymnasium in Salboro, the mural is a dynamic vortex of sport, freedom, and imagination.

Against a hypnotic backdrop of blue spirals, young athletes float in the air, suspended in spectacular acrobatics, supported not by the laws of physics but by basketballs, gymnastic hoops, dumbbells, or clusters of smiling yellow balloons. Each figure is captured at the height of an athletic gesture, yet the lightness of the entire scene transports us elsewhere: into a collective dream where every limit is overcome and every effort becomes flight.

Some glide while clinging to a rocking horse, others launch into a soaring slam dunk, while others defy gravity in a delicate balance of strength and poise. It is not just sport: it is play, desire, dream in motion. Athletic tools become vehicles of imagination, transforming the fatigue of training into a creative and expansive experience.

The title, “Fly Me to the Moon”, recalls the famous musical refrain, suggesting that sport – like art – can take us far beyond the limits of the body, towards a mental space where everything is still possible.

In this colourful, dreamlike vision, Any About New York celebrates the imaginative force of the body in action, offering viewers a silent yet powerful invitation: fly, play, dream. Always.
