Little Guilin

An extension of 'Labour of Love', this segment of the artwork for Kreta Ayer is reminiscent of Little Guilin, a former stone quarry which had a resemblance to a village in China. The artwork was painted on both sides of the stairwell.

Built in the theme of nature, painting Little Guilin was a natural choice with the leaves and trees in abundance. Various activities one can enjoy at this scenic location include fishing, exercising, cycling, or simply just strolling in the park.

Children of the past were carefree and stress-free. Children would run freely playing, and line their chairs to watch outdoor plays and Chinese operas. They played and visited each other's homes without being invited, and would play hide-and-seek amongst wild fields. It was definitely something worth reminiscing.
