Freedom guiding the people
Kicking Art is the union of two artists who come from very different previous experiences, with an aesthetic proposal that combines the tradition of classical painting with the trends of contemporary urban art. In their work they like to talk about the value of diversity, respect, integration and solidarity between people, intervening in public space through art, giving it new meaning and turning it into a tool for positive transformation of the environment.
"It is also very important for us to vindicate classical art figures, bring them closer to people who do not usually access them, and raise a reflection on the universality of the themes that are dealt with in these paintings and how they are still valid in our contemporary reality", they have indicated.
To do this, they take a classic work of art as their starting point, reproducing it practically the same as the original but adding anachronisms, thus working on its meaning. (El diario de Cantabria)
La Libertad guiando al pueblo
Kicking Art es la unión de dos artistas que provienen de experiencias previas muy distintas, con una propuesta estética en la que conjugan la tradición de la pintura clásica con las tendencias del arte urbano contemporáneo. En su trabajo les gusta hablar del valor de la diversidad, del respeto, de la integración y de la solidaridad entre las personas, interviniendo en el espacio público a través del arte, resignificándolo y convirtiéndolo en una herramienta de transformación positiva del entorno.
"También es muy importante para nosotros reivindicar figuras del arte clásico, acercarlas a gente que no suele acceder a ellas, y plantear una reflexión sobre la universalidad de los temas que se tratan en estas pinturas y cómo siguen vigentes en nuestra realidad contemporánea", han señalado.
Para ello, toman como punto de partida una obra de arte clásica reproduciéndola prácticamente igual a la original pero añadiendo anacronismos, trabajando así sobre su significado.( El diario de Cantabria)
