Newport Lakes Birdlife

Description

"This mural celebrates Newport Lakes, a former quarry site turned bushland oasis for significant birdlife. The mural design includes the iconic stepping stones of Newport Lakes and some of the bird species found there. From left to right they are the New Holland Honeyeater, Sacred Kingfisher, female Superb Fairy-Wren, Lewin’s Rail, Spotted Pardalote, Eurasian Coot and finally, the (male) Pink Robin, which has been sighted at Newport Lakes in 2024. I live in Melbourne’s west and love walking and birdwatching in Hobsons Bay." - Sarah Allen

Hi, my name is Neda. What started off as exploring the street art during lunch time, has over time turned into an obsession. ‘Going for a drive’ or ‘a bit of a walk’ would take me to parts of this beautiful country that I would otherwise never see. Street art hunting has become my fitness regime and the lens through which I explore the world. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a thriving street art scene and a group of dedicated hunters in this city. Let us show you around?
