Umbreon (Nachtara)

This mosaic is located on the back of the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, on a white utility door, directly behind the striking, large sculpture "Two Indeterminate Lines" by Bernar Venet. The pixel-art mosaic shows the Pokémon Umbreon (German: Nachtara) in a classic 8-bit retro style.

The artwork is part of a popular street art series in Ludwigshafen. An anonymous local artist (often referred to as the "Banksy of LU," in a nod to the world-famous French street artist Invader) has been brightening up the cityscape at numerous locations with colourful, mosaic-style figures based on well-known video game and pop culture classics.
