Heart (Herz)

This mosaic is mounted on a rust-brown Corten steel wall. It shows a pixelated, red 8-bit heart, composed of square tiles in the iconic retro style of classic video games (such as Minecraft, Zelda or Super Mario).

Small pixel mosaics like this have appeared across Ludwigshafen - on walls, bridges and utility boxes. They typically feature well-known pop culture and gaming motifs like Super Mario, Pokémon or Pac-Man.

The artist's exact identity is not officially known. He is often referred to as “Banksy of LU”. In fact, the style is heavily inspired by the world-famous urban art of the French street artist Invader.
