Num contexto sociocultural em que as práticas de cuidado são, com frequência, interrompidas ou fragilizadas, esta figura ergue-se como símbolo de resistência e pertença. Não se trata de uma representação de uma criança ou de uma aldeia, mas da configuração do
corpo como território fértil — um espaço ontológico e simbólico onde a vida é semeada, cultivada e perpetuada, protegido pela força latente de uma comunidade invisível que o sustém.
As mãos, marcadas pela terra, seguram o vaso como quem guarda uma promessa. As plantas que nele germinam são herdeiras vivas das raízes que se espalham pelo solo, estabelecendo um vínculo orgânico entre a figura, o jardim, o lugar e a memória colectiva.
A nudez parcial, longe de ser lida como fragilidade, afirma-se enquanto gesto de presença e de agência — um corpo vivo, portador de
marcas e narrativas, que se oferece à luz e ao olhar como testemunho da sua própria historicidade.
A obra interroga e reinscreve o conceito de cuidado, entendendo-o como um processo formativo que se constrói nos gestos partilhados e nos vínculos afectivos. Ao mesmo tempo, evidencia a força instintiva que se ergue contra qualquer tentativa de violência ou de rutura deste ciclo vital.
Porque proteger é também cultivar, e cultivar é, inevitavelmente, um acto de resistência.

In a sociocultural context where care practices are often interrupted or weakened, this figure stands as a symbol of resistance and belonging. It is not a representation of a child or a village, but of the configuration of the body as fertile territory—an ontological and symbolic space where life is sown, cultivated, and perpetuated, protected by the latent force of an invisible community that sustains it.

The hands, marked by the earth, hold the pot as if guarding a promise. The plants that germinate within it are living heirs to the roots that spread through the soil, establishing an organic bond between the figure, the garden, the place, and the collective memory.

Partial nudity, far from being interpreted as fragility, asserts itself as a gesture of presence and agency—a living body, bearer of marks and narratives, offering itself to the light and to the gaze as a testimony of its own historicity. The work interrogates and reinscribes the concept of care, understanding it as a formative process built on shared gestures and emotional bonds. At the same time, it highlights the instinctive strength that rises against any attempt at violence or disruption of this vital cycle.

Because protecting is also nurturing, and nurturing is, inevitably, an act of resistance.
