The Pájara Town Hall inaugurated a commemorative mural for the 125th anniversary of Morro Jable, covering an area of ​​one thousand square meters. The work, carried out by Sabotaje al Montaje, is located on Nuestra Señora del Carmen Street and aims to recognize the traditions and customs of the town.

Mayor Alejandro Jorge stressed that this action, in addition to beautifying the urban surroundings of the municipality, serves to recognize the effort and dedication of the residents of Morro Jable. “We not only want to reflect our traditions on this street, but also for it to serve as an attraction for residents and visitors,” he said.

The Councillor for Commerce, Juan José Viera, highlighted that this mural will benefit the shops and establishments in the area and explained that it is made with a specific material for roads. “We are going to beautify the commercial area of ​​the town with the aim of encouraging tourists to leave the hotel where they are staying,” he said.

For her part, the Councillor for Culture, Raquel Acosta, recognised the primary sector group for its involvement in the development of the town. “This mural conveys closeness, years of work by our residents and, above all, the commitment of the governing group to keep the heritage and popular roots alive,” she stressed.

The artist from Sabotaje al Montaje, Matías Mata, praised this type of initiative which, in collaboration with the municipal government team, “serves to represent the history and popular roots of Morro Jable in a public space”.
