The façade of the Santa Marta Municipal Nursery School is different from any entrance to a children's center thanks to the large-format work included in the town's open-air Mural Art Route.

Work of the plastic artist Caín, author of other large paintings that can be visited in Santa Marta de Tormes, it covers the entire façade of the Nursery School - which is an area of between 900 and 1,000 meters - and has animal elements and vegetables present in the surroundings of the municipality such as poppies, the hererillo, butterflies or the fox. As was already done in the mural painting of the Paseo Fluvial “Francisco Bernis”, this work has also captured that feeling of continuity of the natural environment of the municipality and which has its greatest exponent on Isla del Soto.

“As in almost all abstract art, both the composition and the color have an origin, in this case, each shape is extracted from natural elements present in the work itself with a drawing based on black lines that, in addition to providing an element figurative, it creates a union between all the parts of the mural,” says the artist.

For the material execution of the new mural, the artist spent a month although, as he himself stated, “the design part is difficult to quantify because it takes a long time to think about and sometimes that time does not bear the expected results.” Caín is also responsible for the mural of the Youth Center, the one found in the old treatment plant building, and the one located on the pediment.

La fachada de la Escuela Infantil Municipal de Santa Marta es diferente a cualquier entrada de un centro infantil gracias a la obra de gran formato incluida en la Ruta de Arte Mural al aire libre de la localidad.

Obra del artista plástico Caín, autor también de otras pinturas de grandes dimensiones que pueden visitarse en Santa Marta de Tormes, cubre la totalidad de la fachada de la Escuela Infantil —que es una superficie de entre 900 y 1.000 metros— y cuenta con elementos animales y vegetales presentes en el entorno del municipio como las amapolas, el hererillo, las mariposas o el zorro. Como ya se hizo en la pintura mural del Paseo Fluvial “Francisco Bernis”, en esta obra también se ha plasmado esa sensación de continuidad del entorno natural del municipio y que tiene su máximo exponente en la Isla del Soto.

“Como en casi todo el arte abstracto, tanto la composición como el color tiene un origen, en este caso, cada forma está extraída de elementos naturales presentes en la propia obra con un dibujo a base de línea negra que, además de aportar un elemento figurativo, crea una unión entre todas las partes del mural” asegura el artista.

Para la ejecución material del nuevo mural, el artista empleó un mes aunque, como él mismo aseguró “la parte del diseño es difícil de cuantificar porque lleva mucho tiempo darle vueltas y a veces ese tiempo no da los frutos esperados”. Caín también es el responsable del mural del Centro Joven, del que se encuentra en el edificio de la antigua depuradora, y del ubicado en el frontón.
