Carolina Wilhelma Michaëlis de Vasconcelos OSE (Berlin, March 15, 1851 – Porto, November 16, 1925) was a literary critic, writer, lexicographer, and university professor of Prussian and Portuguese nationality. She was the first woman to teach at a Portuguese university, namely at the University of Lisbon and later at the University of Coimbra, and one of the first two to be admitted to the Academy of Sciences. She also played a significant role as a mediator between Portuguese and German culture.

Born in Lobito, Angola, 1958. PhD in Communication Sciences (2005), degrees in Journalism (1999) and Law (1981) from the University of Coimbra. He was a university professor from 2005 to 2025; a communications consultant for several Portuguese ports; and a journalist for TSF, Expresso, Grande Reportagem, TVI, Tal & Qual, and Jornal de Coimbra. He also worked as a photojournalist. Member of the Assembly of the Republic (1983-1985), for PS. He has published several books and photo albums.
