The Winged District

Created in collaboration with the Rēzekne Culture and Tourism Centre, the Latgale Secondary School of Music and Art, and the Latgale Branch of the Latvian Academy of Arts, this creative and symbolic public art installation gives new life to an almost dead tree. It has been transformed into an environmental artwork featuring a collection of birdhouses.

The birdhouses were crafted by students of the Latgale Secondary School of Music and Art, while students of the Latgale Branch of the Latvian Academy of Arts gave each one its own unique visual identity through hand-painted designs.

Winged District can be visited along the Rēzekne Promenade.
