The mural was created as part of the celebrations of the Year of Chopin. It is inspired by the unfinished portrait of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand. The painting commissioned from Eugène Delacroix fell victim to the composer’s changing moods, as he ultimately decided against including his companion in the artwork. As a result, the most famous portrait of Frédéric Chopin was created - the one that can now be seen in the Louvre Museum. The unfinished section depicting George Sand is displayed in a museum in Copenhagen. It was only thanks to Piotr Szwabe that the couple was reunited once again on the wall of staircase F, as in Fryderyk.
