Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
The third artistic work completed in the Bairro do Zambujal is, so far, the most mysterious and metaphorical. With the support of the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, artist Luísa Mota proposes a more avant-garde interpretation of SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, bringing her signature artistic theme into urban art: The Invisibles.
For months, the artist carried out an artistic performance in the neighborhood featuring invisible characters open to multiple interpretations. Those who wear the mirrored suits shed their own identity to reflect that of whoever approaches them. These prismatic figures also serve as a metaphor for the industry of the future: innovative and always in relation with others. On the building’s gable wall, windows from other parts of the neighborhood are painted. Those who live far away also have an impact on life nearby. We are all connected. This painting engages with several questions. One of them is: can we enter the garden that points to both the past and the future?
