This massive 15,000 sq ft mural was done in 1983. The artists skill, known for turning bare walls into illusory windows, created this mural as a tribute to the Philadelphia architecture and noted that he was fascinated by the contrast of the colonial era buildings next to skyscrapers. The mural contains the image of William Penn (to scale of the City Hall Statue!) going into repair, in reference to his portrait at city hall. And to the right sits the statue of Ben Franklin with a view of the B&O rail station behind him. The view below is of a scull rower from Thomas Eakins' painting - "Max Schmitt in a Single Scull."
