Taquen was invited by StARTer cultural projects to continue an initiative that started 2020 in collaboration with Age’s Town Hall. Agés is located in a strategic place on San Jacob´s ways, it is a part of the last stage before reaching Burgos; This location makes the Village a connection between movement and shared spaces, essential working basis for this artist.
Nature is one of the main protagonists of his pieces, whether it is animals or plants, this time he created a flock of birds. Continuing with the idea of migration, so decisive in the rural environments of the Castilian lands, Taquen brings the flight of some GARZAS REALES (Grey Herons -Ardea cinerea-) to connect these roads. “Sometimes we march by choice and other times by obligation. Sometimes knowing the destination and sometimes not. Gray herons, flying in groups, cross Europe from south to north with rising temperatures, looking for less hostile places to live. Burgos and the Castilian lands thus become an area of passage for them and pause, to regain strength and then continue. A place shared between those who are and those who pass, between inhabitants and pilgrims, between architecture and painting.”
