About Jorge Charrua (source : https://www.artepublicaleiria.com/jorge-charrua.html) Jorge Charrua (1991) started his artistic activity in 2004, in graffiti. He holds a degree in painting from the University of fine-arts in Lisbon. His work lives in a balance of longing and nostalgia with contemporary themes, through iconographies and symbols, such as hip hop culture, old video games or the history of art, using the traditional painting to establish these points of contact. The representation of the human figure arises in a game between melancholy and affirmation, with the affinity of the bi-dimensionality of the backgrounds created by graphic signals
The research work is also shown outdoors, being the challenge of maintaining the plastic coherence of the studio work as well as in the mural work based on the acquired knowledge on academic art and street art.
