It depicts an allegory of the northern orchard, with the map of Benifaraig upon its dress. The orchard embraces the village, where the days and the labor of the farmers bring forth fruits and vegetables in the fields, and the nights are lived “a la fresca” with Carmen and Trini, two neighbors from my street who embody the women of the village and the age-old tradition of gathering to converse under the night sky. The mural is completed by a butterfly bearing the Valencian flag upon its wings, encountering a snail whose shell transforms into a watermelon — a symbol of Valencian society’s support for the Palestinian conflict.
Ultimately, a mural that speaks of the village itself.
