Uncle Jack Wall

A wall in memory if elder Uncle Jack.

The artist says on her Instagram page;

"I think I speak for alot of my Naarm community, Indigenous and non Indig, when I say that I’m still heartbroken about the passing of Uncle Jack.

I had the privilege of knowing Uncle Jack and even collaborating with him for a few projects over the years. His spirit truely warmed me and everyone he met. He was the deadliest Elder and had such a natural ability to inspire and motive young mob. He had such an effect on me and the work I continue to make. One of the reasons I love Uncle Jack is he always had this lightness of spirit about him and a cheekiness, despite having such a difficult life and upbringing. And that always made me feel really understood.

Uncle Jack is forever an inspiration for Indigenous people, but also as one of the first out and proud gay artists and actors and his contribution to the Australian art scene will never be forgotten.

This wall is for him. And I wish he is was around to see it but I know Uncle will be in the dreaming now, at peace."
