The first big mural by Artoon in Ghent. This is what he had to say about it: "Where is home? Everywhere around the world people struggle to make one for themselves and their close ones. It can be a place, it can be a feeling when you talk to someone. It can be something you lose and build up again elsewhere…I chose this subject to paint in the city of Ghent’s town area called ‘Nieuw Gent’, a social housing quarter that faces many challenges in living together with people with a lot of different backgrounds. I loved the casual talks with the locals, some of them helping me out with water and electricity."
Part of the Goldmine project in Nieuw Gent by Wallin' vzw.
My life? Street art, music, European comics, contemporary art, travelling... On my FlickR account you'll find all my street art photography, and yes that means a lot of pictures.
Living in Ghent (Belgium), so most pictures are taken in my home town. And yes, that's the place I'm taking care of on Street Art Cities. Let me know when you come over to visit, perhaps we can have a drink or walk.
