On Avenida de Madrid, the main access artery to our municipality, is the large-format mural created by the plastic artist Caín Ferreras, a work that has completely transformed the image of this area of Santa Marta de Tormes. It is a painting whose design and aesthetics have been homogenized with the Interpretation Center of Isla del Soto and that can be enjoyed in the new space that the Santa Martín City Council has recovered next to the Tormes River, turning it into a quiet area, next to the urban area, to walk and enjoy nature, and from which you can access the La Aldehuela area of Salamanca through a large green corridor.

Color and nature run through the artistic complex formed by four large walls, with a surface area of 400 square meters, which has been added to the “Mural Art Route” that the municipality has, offering neighbors and visitors more about twenty large murals in different locations.

The composition by the artist Caín evokes the feeling of freedom typical of natural spaces that is achieved through the flight of the birds that make up the painting, covering the entire perimeter of the treatment plant building. The mural also nods to women and their role as protector and promoter of freedom, with two images in which a female figure protects a robin, and another in which she releases a bee-eater.

En la Avenida de Madrid, arteria principal de acceso a nuestro municipio, se encuentra el mural de gran formato creado por el artista plástico Caín Ferreras, una obra que ha transformado totalmente la imagen de esta zona de Santa Marta de Tormes. Se trata de una pintura cuyo diseño y estética se ha homogeneizado con el Centro de Interpretación de la Isla del Soto y que puede disfrutarse en el nuevo espacio que ha recuperado el Ayuntamiento santamartino junto al río Tormes, convirtiéndolo en una zona tranquila, al lado del casco urbano, para pasear y disfrutar de la naturaleza, y desde la que se puede acceder a la zona de La Aldehuela de Salamanca a través de un gran corredor verde.

El color y la naturaleza recorren el conjunto artístico formado por cuatro grandes paredes, con unas dimensiones de 400 metros cuadrados de superficie, que se ha sumado a la “Ruta de Arte Mural” con la que cuenta el municipio, ofreciendo a vecinos y visitantes más de una veintena de grandes murales en distintos emplazamientos.

La composición del artista Caín evoca la sensación de libertad propia de los espacios naturales que se consigue a través del vuelo de los pájaros que conforman la pintura, recorriendo todo el perímetro del edificio de la depuradora. El mural además también hace un guiño a la mujer y a su papel de protectora y de impulsora de la libertad, con sendas imágenes en las que una figura femenina resguarda a un petirrojo, y otra en la que suelta a un abejaruco.
