Monochrome wall murals depicting historical scenes of the city have already become one of Rēzekne’s distinctive landmarks. These large-scale artworks on buildings were created through the initiative of local female artists, revealing the character of old Rēzekne in a unified visual style — inspired by vintage postcards and interpretations of the city’s historic photographs.
The walking route features large-scale wall murals, all located in the central part of the city and within easy walking distance of one another. The route takes you along Atbrīvošanas Alley, the riverside pedestrian promenade, as well as Brīvības, Krāslavas and Latgales Streets.
The route also includes other notable street art works created independently of the project.
