Artistic masterpiece at the entrance to the Stollenbahn cable car on the Mölltal Glacier
Visitors are immersed in a world that combines art and nature in a breathtaking way! In May 2024, renowned artists Gregor Wosik and Daniela Löh transformed the walls at the entrance to the Stollenbahn cable car on the Mölltal Glacier into a fascinating work of art that is second to none. Spanning two levels and the staircase, this masterpiece depicts a view from a cave of the majestic glacier, the ice-covered mountains and the sparkling snow.
A majestic ibex is perched on a rock, while a bearded vulture takes flight with outstretched wings - two symbolic figures of the national park that epitomise the impressive biodiversity of the region. Streams and rivers run through the scenery, symbolising the abundance of crystal-clear drinking water that characterises this landscape. In the middle of this picture, a golden girl greets you in the Tauern wind! She stands on a sparkling crystal that radiates deep into the earth and is a reminder of the glorious history of this region. The mountains tell stories of hidden treasures: glittering crystals that were found and mined here and golden veins that keep the historical wealth of mining alive.
Particularly impressive is the use of 3D painting, which creates an illusion of depth and space, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the artwork. Two footprints on the ground mark the perfect vantage point to take unique photos that show the viewer as part of this breathtaking landscape.
