“Kora, origen de la pintura”
Mural realizado para el Festival de Arte Urbano 23700, en Linares, promovido por Rampa Pro.

Basado en una leyenda contada por Plinio el Viejo, escritor romano del siglo I.
Un mito corintio que nos lleva a la Grecia del siglo VII a. C. Fue entonces cuando Kora, hija del Butades, quedó prendada de un joven que pronto marcharía a la guerra. Durante la última noche antes de su despedida, Kora despertó de su sueño y descubrió cómo el perfil de su amado se describía en la pared, proyectada por la luz de una vela. Tomando un carboncillo, repasó el perfil de la sombra, para así no olvidar la imagen de su amado.

El mural, ofrece la similitud del “origen de la pintura” como el “origen de la vida” dando énfasis a la figura de la mujer como procreadora de vida y del arte, remarcando si cabe la importancia de la figura femenina en la creación artística. Se focaliza el rostro femenino gracias a un círculo dorado (con toda la simbología que conlleva) de caligrafías o tags. Es la vela quién ilumina a la obra, pues es protagonista del mito, siendo la luz el “origen de todo”; ésta se apoya sobre una columna corintia (con los cánones que representa), pues es en la ciudad de Corintio donde suceden los hechos, la cual posee dos caulículos uno en representación de Kora y el otro a su amado.

A Corinthian myth that takes us to Greece in the 7th century BC. C. It was then when Kora, daughter of Butades, fell in love with a young man who would soon go to war. During the last night before her farewell, Kora woke up from her dream and discovered how the profile of her lover was described on the wall, projected by the light of a candle. Taking a charcoal pencil, he reviewed the profile of the shadow, so as not to forget the image of his loved one.

The mural offers the similarity of the “origin of painting” as the “origin of life” giving emphasis to the figure of women as procreators of life and art, highlighting if possible the importance of the female figure in artistic creation. The female face is focused on thanks to a golden circle (with all the symbology that it entails) of calligraphy or tags. It is the candle that illuminates the work, since it is the protagonist of the myth, light being the “origin of everything”; This rests on a Corinthian column (with the canons it represents), since it is in the city of Corinth where the events take place, which has two caulicules, one representing Kora and the other her beloved.
