The owners of the hotel, Rogier and his brother Léon Camijn, commissioned a new look for this facade, which also had to be a business card. On the wall of Hampshire Hotel- Delft Centre, a life-size mural has been painted by artist Micha de Bie. With an area of no less than 200 square meters, the graphic work cannot be missed. Several elements can be discovered in the painting. It shows all kinds of Delft historical motifs, such as Vermeer, the Old Church Tower and the canals with tour boat. These motifs are therefore deliberately aimed not only at hotel guests, but also at tourists. They normally set foot on Delft soil in large numbers at this parking lot, which is also the drop-off and pick-up point for the tour buses. It is convenient that then, walking along the building, the painting is immediately in sight with the tower of the New Church in the distance. That to which the painting refers already beckons in the distance. But the mural is also an asset to the people of the neighborhood. Quite a few residents have gained a much nicer view of a lively and colorful scene.

Camijn brothers: “The mural was done during the height of the Corona pandemic, providing a cheerful note in a challenging time. With the mural, we particularly had in mind a beautification of the surroundings. Our hotel and the city we are so proud of now stand out much better. Since the theme of music predominates within our hotel, this could not be missing either. Micha de Bie managed to capture all these different elements in this stimulating street art that appeals to young and old. It's great to see people getting off their bikes especially to admire the work.”
