<div>We have been inspired by the heat sensitivity maps provided by GIZ for the neighborhood covering parts of the mural background and backdrop, in the meanwhile we added a human touch and portrait of a happy child gazing at the abundant foliage above her where the optimism denotes hope for climate and environmental protection. Overlapping pixels demonstrate the heat build-up and impact generated by humans as a result of high population densities besides declining natural resources and an increased demand for energy - says <strong>Engy Al Garf </strong>the lead artist.</div>

<div>The design concept is geared towards using symbolic elements relative to the commercial shop natures whether being workshops, retailers or service providers that shall serve as indirect advertisement for the shop owners while also creating a sense of exposure and ownership.</div><div>For the workshops, exploded views from technical drawings and blueprints have been used in addition to inspirational imagery of activities and operation processes happening inside the shops.</div>

Nofal O-one Graff

<div>Ahmed Nofal also known as Nofal O-one Graff realized a great artistic production depicting a royal ancient Egyptian figure twisted with elements of contemporary street life including the iconic vintage Volkswagen Kombis and which are commonly observed in the neighborhood as active means of daily transportation until today.<br><br></div><div>Faisal St is a main transit axis in Greater Cairo located a few kilometers away from the Giza Pyramids and which is also very close to where Nofal lives, a prolific street artist famous for his ancient Egyptian characters always communicating a message of past and future illustrated as colorful quirky portraits complementing and reflecting upon the local kitsch surrounding community.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>The mural was self-financed by the artist and co-sponsored by DUCO - Empowering Urban Appeal.<em><br></em><br></div>
