KLK! I’m Omar García, or as most people know me, ''Angurria''. I'm a Dominican art director, illustrator and muralist with over 25 years of experience in the creative industry. My work celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean, blending hyperrealism with expressive compositions to tell stories rooted in identity, pride, and everyday life. Throughout the years, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with local and global brands like Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, MLB, Adidas, Nestlé, HBO Max, Altice, McDonald's International, and Warner Bros. My work also includes collaborations with prominent figures such as filmmaker Ava DuVernay, which has helped strengthen my presence on the global art scene. I’ve contributed to projects like Lin-Manuel Miranda’s film In The Heights, as well as the 2020 MLB pre-season game in the Dominican Republic. To date, I’ve painted over 130 murals around the world. One of my most personal and recognized bodies of work is the ''Doña Patria'' series, a tribute to Caribbean women inspired by everyday life, cultural traditions, and the beauty of our identity. It celebrates pride, resilience, and empowerment. This series and many of my creations have been exhibited at festivals and events such as Hidden Treasure (Bremen, Germany, 2024), Open Wide Walls Mural Fest (Sacramento, 2023), Change The Seasons by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (Times Square, NY), Color Caribe Mural Fest (San Juan, Puerto Rico 2022), Expo Dubai (Dubai, 2022), Wynwood (Miami, 2021-2022), Pow Wow (Worcester, MA.), Beyond Wall (Lynn MA.), Extra Muros (San Juan, P.R.) and the Museum of Urban Art of Latin America in Lima, Peru, among others.
